November 25, 200619 yr Hi,I'm putting together a contest and am looking for the most challenging approaches out there. What I'm really looking for are challenging non-precision approach approaches. A good example is the Burlington (KBTV) VOR RWY1 appoach. But any approach will do. Any suggestions? Thanks,Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180 Tom Perry

November 26, 200619 yr Commercial Member The two craziest approaches I know of are into Courchevel in the french alps and Lukla, Nepal, deep in the monsoon half of the himalayas.Neither has any electronic guidance that I'm aware of, so you may not be interested, but both are extremely short runways (sloped in real life) embedded into berms in the sides of very tall mountains. Both are at high altitude, over 6000 feet, and neither has a missed approach escape route once you cross the threshold. Unless you have a harrier, you make the runway, or you eat dirt. November 26, 200619 yr Hi Thomas; To keep you from reinventing the wheel, so to speak, may I suggestthat you check out "Dougherty's Dangerous and Difficult Approaches" found here in the AVSIM Library. Might save you some work if they're close to what your looking for. Denny Retired Professional Tourist
