November 26, 200619 yr Anyone else had the FSX ATC vector them off and seem to forget them?I was finishing a flight from KATL to LFRG. Nearing the cost of France I was vectored up 2000 ft and sent north. after flying that vector for quite a while I lowered my altitude 100ft and was ordered back to the assigned FL. When I had flown 200nm from the last waypoint in my flight plan I cancelled the IFR and turned back.400 nm extra??? Snowfalcon13 KRTS Reno, NV. November 26, 200619 yr Same issue as in FS9.If you notice it, just refile your Flight Plan in flight and they will start to vector you correctly.
November 26, 200619 yr Thanks it's only happened a few times. Snowfalcon13 KRTS Reno, NV. November 27, 200619 yr Radar Contact v.4 for realistic and immersive ATC.I never use the default ATC now. The words 'Chocolate Teapot' come to mind. Dave Taylor
November 27, 200619 yr Wierd ATC when you get to France is not an error. It's an accurate emulation of how the real world is. It simulates the problems that occur when French air traffic controllers go on strike (again) or the confusion that ensues when they insist on speaking to Air France pilots in French, rather than English, despite the fact that it has been widely recognised that this is detrimental to safety.Another triumph for FS, although when you get wierd ATC in any other country, yup, it's just wierd.Bon chance. November 29, 200619 yr Chocolate Teapot?Wouldn't it melt when you try to heat it up?Do you eat it after you have your tea?Could be an intersting name for a band I suppose.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180 Tom Perry
November 29, 200619 yr >Radar Contact v.4 for realistic and immersive ATC.You took the words from my mouth. I understand that JD and team are close to having a patch that works with FSX. I forgot how bad the default ATC and how good RC4 is until I started playing with FSX. >The words 'Chocolate Teapot' come to mind. Now, that is a great expression. I never heard it before but I'll remember it.Bob
November 29, 200619 yr >Thanks it's only happened a few times. I've had that problem in FS9 and, as I recall, KATL was always invovled somehow. My complaint about FSX ATC is the constant "xxxxx, hold position, yyyy on the taxiway" followed immediately by "xxxx, continue taxi", followed immediately by "xxxxx, hold position, yyyy on the taxiway" followed immediately by "xxxx, continue taxi" and so on, etc, etc. This happens when I'm (yyyy) taxiing to the active runway and there is an aircraft following me ( xxxx ). Seems the slightest hint of a change of speed by me or a deviation from the taxiway centerline evokes the "hold/continue" dialog. It's really VERY annoying! :( Also, I'm noticing many ATC phrases are being "clipped" or slurred. I've using my FS9 files from Editvoicepack but the same thing does not occur in FS9. So much for progress :( Paul

Never really tried any add ons in this department maybe next year I will when other problems are sorted.Never heard of the ' chocolate teapot '. How about these:-As much use as an ashtray on a motorbike. As much use as a skylight in the 5th floor of a 10 storey tower block. As much use as an handbrake in a canoe. What was the best thing before sliced bread was invented?Al ;-) Alan Finch Windows 11, Intel Core i9-9900K @3.60GHz, RAM 32GB
November 30, 200619 yr Using Radar Contact vs default FS ATC is like going from McDonalds to the Surf and Turf at Ruths Chris steakhouse...
