December 26, 20205 yr In P3D in flying the PMDG tubes I became accustomed to using FSCaptain to help keep me focused on what I 'should' be doing from pre-flight to post-landing and it really helps to aim for a 'grade' for your performance. The boys at FSC clearly like MSFS but await the more robust SDK to exploit for that wonderful program. So, while waiting for FSC I do almost all flights in MSFS in the TBM930 IFR and score myself using the same criteria, and these are 1-3h tops. I very much look forward to FSCaptain for MSFS. A way to help alleviate boredom in something like the TBM is just to hand-fly it a lot more, which I do. December 26, 20205 yr I tend not to, as other people have pointed out the other sims are better at IFR/AP flights at present and my timezone is not ideal for things like vatsim anyway. Pretty much 100% VFR with no autopilot for me.
December 26, 20205 yr Anywhere from 1 hour to 5 hours. I'm in home office at the moment, so I can do longer flights. Might even do one of my favorite routes, which is Male, Seychelles, to London, Heathrow. It's a roughly 10 hour flight. I'll probably wait for the QW 787 to do that. I always use the default ATC and never time compress. On a longer flight, once I'm established in the cruise, I'll wait until I#m asked to contact another controller, acknowledge, then step away from my PC to do other things. I emjoy watching my plane fly over different continents and countries.
