December 26, 20205 yr I’ve just fired up a flight from ksfo to cyvr all is smooth. Apart from my asca clouds popping and also when panning the clouds pop in and out. Also the drop down menu over laps the red text. and lastly P3d does not close within a few seconds as it usually does. any advise is appreciated thanks mike

It’s taking longer than the usual 20 or 30 seconds thou. I have no clue what’s going on. I might just uninstall and reinstall 5.1 I tried repair but still get the issue with drop down menu overlapping the red text when pressing shift z. I don’t think it’s my monitor settings. mans asca clouds spinning and popping is that the norm? if you have ASCA can you please verify? perhaps driver ??i have the latest. thanks mike Edited December 27, 20205 yr by mikeymike

I can't guess. Shutdown time depends. In my configuration with tons of addons it can take 40-50 sec., that is normal to me. ASCA spinning/popping clouds... no not normal. Is this with ASP3D? It is the weather engine and not the cloud art (which is just a bunch of graphics) that you should be concerned about. My first thought is you don't have their latest updates for both ASP3D and ASCA that dropped a few days ago. Dan Downs KCRP

To clarify today i had to go into task manager and shut it down as it was not on its own i waited about 3 minutes and I don’t have many addons at all. Interesting I’ll have to check their website again usually ide get a notification when firing up asp3d. thanks mike

It's a thing now. If you have to kill the process then most likely you have an addon that uses a dll and that dll is not responding. This results in P3D just sitting there waiting for the other thing to happen, a classic example of AppHang. Dan Downs KCRP
December 27, 20205 yr They don't send out notifications for Open betas. Just RTM releases. Thanks I will have to look into it with respect to dll. as for the cloid popping in the clouds I think it may be shadows. I’ll have to test further. and the drop down menu overlapping my red text I have no idea as to why. mike

Using Driver version 460.89. There's a Beta build for ASCA on the HiFi Site, dated 21st Dec, so you could probably give that a try. Which version of ActiveSky? As for the menu overlap, could you clarify further? Finally, what camera software are you using? Default, EZDOK or Chaseplane? If the latter two, are they current versions?

ALT+ENTER key? Shift+A for GPU etc.? Can you try posting a pic of your menu overlap?

I’m doing some research and I think it may be the latest driver and previous driver causing these issues. other users are having same issues and also flashing in games nvidia can never get it right for some of us. I’ll try reverting a couple of drivers earlier and see how she goes. Cheers mike
