Airports - Approach lighting systems

My thought is when the purchase is MSFS Deluxe Premium the airports that come with the sim (KJFK, KORD etc) should be up to date without the need for ADE.

I think your thought is wrong. 😂

The Deluxe Premium version offers more "handcrafted" airports than the other versions - roughly 40 airports in total.

The rest of the roughly 37.000 airports included are not handcrafted or altered in any way (including KGRR and KARB). These airports are - if I am not mistaken - created by an AI algorithm from a database (on runways) and satellite pictures (to make taxiways, buildings, etc.).

There has been some confusion as to wether all of these airports received some human input drawing boundaries, lines, etc. (this was hinted at in one of the developer videos), but this may be limited to a small portion of these airports or is still an ongoing process.

To my knowledge so far the only airports that are highly realistic with regards to buildings, lighting and signage are the handcrafted airports, payware airports and airports made by the community as freeware.

What did you need to update at KGRR?

taxiway lights are in the middle of some of the taxiways (I will need to redo most of the taxiways).  Changing the option so there are no departures or arrivals on the GA runway 8L/26R (airliners have used it in msfs which IRL never happens).  Deleted a lot of GA parking that does not exsist IRL.  changed the runway strobe number from 5 to 7.

Thanks for the background information.

I was referring to KJFK, KORD ect. in MSFS Premium package (screenshot) not other worldwide airports.

I had previously read about hand crafted airports but the total meaning (without correct approach and other lighting problems or imported from FSX) was not a thought I had.

In my first post I was simply asking if other pilots were seeing the same with a couple quick examples.
