VATSIM and multiplayer traffic

Featured Replies

Hello, I have noted the following behavior on MSFS 2020 when I connected to VATSIM: I see the VATSIM traffic and AI Traffic on the simulator and in the Little NavMap.

In LNM the traffic appears as: AI/Multiplayer Aircraft/On Line Client. Beside that the VATSIM traffic appears perfect.

These are the options:

  • Multiplayer: OFF
  • AirTraffic: OFF
  • Wheather and Time: LIVE

The AI traffics appears when I get connection through vPilot to VATSIM. Before that there is no traffic on FS2020.

Have I missed any option in the configuration of MSFS 2020?

Thanks in advanced, Rodolfo

The same for me

Thanks for your answer Robin29.

Yes. This option is OFF.

I want to emphasize that I don't see any traffic in FS 2020, but, as soon as I get connection to VATSIM the AI traffics appears.🥴

Turn ALL traffic OFF within MSFS Traffic Options when connecting to VATSIM.

Then you'll get the Real Stuff that is VATSIM and nothing else.

Probably been asked before but has anyone got the model matching and liveries sorted for VATSIM? I've only got a couple of flights online under my belt but really getting into it and it adds a whole new level of immersion to the sim, but the default planes and liveries you see aren't very realistic. Also, the VATSIM traffic doesn't seem to show up on TCAS in the A32nx either.

Will Fly for Cheese thanks for your answer.

I have turned off all traffic options, at least that is what I think. I wish to add that a couple of months ago i was flawn in VATSIM without this situation.

This is the correct behavior. The "AI" traffic you're seeing in this case is just vPilot projecting the Vatsim traffic into the game via SimConnect. It's not actually AI traffic in the procedurally generated MSFS traffic sense. The vPilot client just drives SimConnect AI Aircraft for network aircraft.

This is true, it does not. Presently the JS API for traffic just returns live traffic only and not AI traffic (which would include Vatsim traffic). We confirmed this with Asobo.
