Hello, I’m not a pilot nor do I run Xplane, but my father is. I’d like to commission  a model of his specific aircraft configuration for Xplane 11 as a surprise gift. Is there anyone who does this sort of thing as a side business, or anywhere I should look? Thanks!

Unfortunately the original poster´s request lacks important information to really give a valid answer. What aircraft? What level of detail? Just a paintjob? Or certain engine/instrument configuration?

If the OP asks for someone to make a livery - couple hours. But if he wants a dedicated, detailed, "study level" model of a light twin to be made from scratch - a few years...

Yes, it would be a private use model (contract job), single engine plane that I believe is already out there for Xplane but would have a different (commonly seen) engine/avionics. I don’t want to give too many details since he searches forums and his plane is uncommon in real life, but will be glad to return messages if someone has any ideas.

Your best bet would be to approach the various stores and send an email to the owners of those stores with your plan.  The owners can get in touch with their developers and make the pitch for you.  Alternatively, send a DM to various developers with your request.  This will take a little more time, but will put you in direct contact with the developers.
