January 27, 20215 yr I start FSX SE ok. I pick the aircraft, airport, etc. click ok and then the Loading Terrain Data Pop up stays on 6%, that's it. Prior to that I did install Ezdok on the D Drive, that may be the cause. I have everything that is FSX SE on my D Drive, and everything that is PREPARED is on my C Drive.
January 27, 20215 yr If everything seemed ok before you installed Ezdok, you could try uninstalling it to see if that resolves the problem. Does this happen at all your airports or a specific one? Bill
January 28, 20215 yr Author It was Ezdok. My Prepared is in the C: Drive, and the FSX SE is on the D:Drive. I'm trying to install it on the C: Drive. This is very frustrating.
January 28, 20215 yr What kind of drive is the D drive? Sim: Prepar3D 5.2 (main) and Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020), CH Eclipse Yoke, Thrustmaster Airbus TCA Side Stick, CH Pro Throttle, CH Pro Pedals, Saitek Cessna trim wheel, TrackIR 5, SPAD.neXt running 3 Saitek Logitech panels, ButtKicker Gamer 2, Razer Naga Chroma gaming mouse System: Intel i5-10600K CPU @ 4.10 GHz, Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, 64GB DDR4 RAM @ 4200 MHz, ASRock Z490M Pro4, 2TB Intel NVMe SSD 660p, 3 monitors
January 28, 20215 yr Depending upon the amount of scenery (areas, meshes, add-ons for airports and regions) you may have to wait MINUTES for the sim to load.. Apologies if you are already a patient man, but in all seriousness the waiting time may lead you to think that the program has crashed. I use SceneryConfigEditor to switch off the parts of the world I'm not using before loading up FSX:SE HOWEVER, my UK install is photoreal which takes an age to load and will stick around 6% for some time. As an aside, I had thought about swapping to an SSD, but I've been lead to believe that an SSD only speeds up loading times (less time at 6%) to get flying and NOT texture loading as one is flying along in the sim. January 29, 20215 yr Author I do have a ton of scenery, but I ate dinner and it was still locked up. I'm going to try installing both Steam FSX SE and PREPARED On the C:Drive, and then installing the extras on the D:Drive.

SSDs are much more affordable than they used to be. They are a godsend for FSX, especially if one needs to exit and load flights repeatedly for testing/troubleshooting purposes like I do. January 29, 20215 yr Author I re-installed FSX SE on the C: Drive and it worked fine. Installed Ezdok 2 also on the C: Drive. When I click on the Ezdok drop down in the sim, the Ezdok pop up does not show, only after I exit the sim.
