February 3, 20215 yr I fly a variety of aircraft, and have gotten used to creating a separate Airbus 320 joystick plus Keyboard profile to maximise functionality. (I also use SpadNext and StreamDeck to give me the best possible control over my aircraft.) EG: setting up the A320 to use my Airbus Joystick to set the Throttle reverse on a button so I can hit it quickly immediately after landing. The keyboard is not an acceptable option as my hands are too busy doing the flare and roll out.:-)) Does anyone know if it is possible to save these control setups somewhere locally (I know they go into the cloud) so I could reload them more easily than having to click thru "n" setups in the control window to select each item, once for Joystick, and again for keyboard - it takes for ever, like most things i FS2020 !!!!. Right now, switching aircraft is a real nightmare, there must be a better solution ? If not, maybe a 3rd party deveioper would like to give this option a try ? I am sure it would be well received, especially as we get more variety in FS.
February 3, 20215 yr chopperaddict, Have a look at Lorby Axis and Ohs. I am not at all sure that it is available for MSFS but I will be looking further as I have just ordered a new Saitek yoke and throttle with a new second throttle quadrant. At the moment I can use the throttle detents as throttle reversers in MSFS and it functions well. In P3D, using the Lorby system it is incredibly easy to set up individual aircraft. I have set up 3 separate systems ... one for single engine, one for twins, and one for four engine aircraft. I have also found Oliver (Lorby) to be incredibly helpful and very fast to assist when and if you have problems. There is also FSUIPC7 which I have for MSFS but do not use for controllers (has to be the paid version) and whilst I have it and use it for FS2004 and P3D and Xplane, I have found that after a lot of mucking around and sorting out, MSFS does it adequately. I hope this helps you mate and, by the way, welcome to our forums. Tony Tony Chilcott. My System. Motherboard. ASRock Taichi X570 CPU Ryzen 9 3900x (not yet overclocked). February 3, 20215 yr chopperaddict, I just noticed that you are using the airbus joystick, so what I have said may not apply to you. However. it may well be worth checking out. February 3, 20215 yr You can already create custom control profiles in the sim in the controls section. I have one control scheme for GA and one for Airliners with different button assignments for my HOTAS throttle and stick. I just select which one depending on aircraft of choice. No need for FSUIPC in this regard which was my solution back in the day. Thomas Derbyshire
February 3, 20215 yr You said you're using SPAD so why not just manage your joystick with that as well. I use SPAD and have configurations for every aircraft I fly (all of my hardware is managed by SPAD).
February 4, 20215 yr I use the Controls "pre-set manager" with Bravo Throttle to create separate control profiles for simple single, complex single, twin prop, four-engine jet, etc. Plus a couple profiles for individual aircraft, such as TBM-930, VL3 and so forth where the control configuration deviates from the general layout for that category.
February 4, 20215 yr Author Hi Everyone, and thanks for the feedback/suggestions. As to Spad, I have found that it's control of the joystick is "less than perfect" overall. I was using this, but went back to the MS control after they added the new sensitivity control options. I do have many different Configurations in FS itself, bit it is just so slow in doing anything, that finding the correct one out of maybe 12 different setups takes far too long. Even clicking twice to cycle them 2 at a time is still really slow. What I am really after is something similar to that in Spad, where I can just select the relevant control template from a list with a double click and off I go ? I just looked up the "Lorby Axis" system. It looks to be similar to SpadNext, which I have already paid for, so am a little loathe to spend yet more on a similar system. I also notice that like most things using Simconnect to communicate with FS2020, FPS takes a hit due to bugs that M$$$/Asobo have said they will fix, but quite when is anyone's guess ! My system is not really high enough, I only get around 35-40fps flying over countryside and it drops to 23-25 over say New York, so taking another hit will sadly not help me too much. Anyway, good food for thought folks, much appreciated.
