Free today: SCJO - Airport City of Osorno Chile/Patagonia

Featured Replies

I saw their Ushuaia airport on the marketplace which looked quite interesting but this is one of their other products and being free today I'll check it out to get an idea, price seems ok for the quality delivered and there just aren't enough airports getting attention in South America yet its landscapes are great to fly over.

My quick verdict after checking it out, I probably put it on par with Sierrasim of whom I bought all airports.  I think the price is probably fair but I equally think you probably want to be frequently flying in these areas to justify the purchase because there is certainly freeware out there matching this quality but maybe not for this area and do note that I say the quality of 'this' airport.
So for payware my complaints would be that the textures are a bit too clean and uniform still and I would like to see maybe some transparency on the terminal windows as those repeating image textures do spoil the illusion a bit so this one does look a bit last gen.   Simaddons which I would also put in a similar quality bracket and generally has transparent textures with characters inside that admittedly do look like cardboard cutouts up close but they still look just that little bit more convincing when looking into the terminal building from the cockpit and those things are a good compromise while remaining FPS friendly.  The night lighting is very good though with some nice custom floodlights, no complaints there.  The later work in the store seems to be increasing in quality based on the video for both SAWH and SAZS, very nice models at those fields and clearly there are PBR textures present. I think I might get those 2 together when on a sale at simmmarket or when I reach that part of the continent as I'm currently on a flight down with my PA44 and the target is Ushaia. (whatever comes first).

Hello all,

My free download is asking for registration and for that you need a serial number (not supplied) Has anybody downloaded this and bypassed it or can I get a link to the Serial number for the free version.

I will note that I downloaded it when it was free, but when I went to install it a couple of hours later, it had a price on it.  May well be the reason it is asking for the serial number.

Cheers guys

It will still have a serial even if you got it for free, just go to the 'orders' page and it will show there.

stefaandk,

Thank you Sir. All sorted now.

How is life in delightful Tyabb In Victoria.

As a bit of trivia, in 1969, I became engaged to a wonderful young lady in the charming township (village?) of Rosebud which is not so very far from there. We were married for 32 years (21 of which were during my military ((RAAF)) career) before she died from Scleroderma in Western Australia.

Thanks again for your help

Tony

You are most welcome, as a bit of feedback I chose Tyabb's ICAO as my location as it's the closest field to where I currently live which is Dromana but it's all an extended downwind trip away ;-).  Rosebud is definitely just up the road.
I am originally from Belgium myself but been living in Australia for 22 years now.  I hope to make it to WA myself one day as that was always the original goal when I moved down under.

Sorry to hear about your wife's passing, that's very sad.  I hope your flights simulated or otherwise take you a bit closer to her.

Best Wishes!

stefaandk,

Thank you for your thoughts. It all happened a long time ago (2003) Very definitely a case of Gone but not Forgotten despite remarrying in 2005 to an Indonesian lady to whom I am still married.  I am currently living in Western Australia but only due to Covid.

Regards

Tony
