February 14, 20215 yr Mega Moan!😆 Tonight, I spent hours trying to find an interesting flight in MSFS. I have Airhauler2, Pilot2ATC and MCE, of course. Every Airhauler flight was boring! Same old, same old! All the other flights were boring. Whats wrong with me? I am bored! Thats what! Without a decent sim...PMDG NGX, A/S CRJ, F1 Dreamliner.(not the silly Asobo model)...There is only the childish basic Asobo model aircraft. Looks nice, looks lovely, shame about the depth. Do those guages really show engine temp? (No) The CRJ4(mod) and FBW are changing constantly, so no point in Ben keeping up there? Even then, they arnt stable, CTD is just around the corner! In spite of glorified You Tube commentators. (Oooh this is great!) They (Asobo models) all lack any depth. Be honest! its like flying FSX in a basic FSX model? So many things are INOP!!! INOP? INOP? The weather is atrocious. I mean whoever gets real world weather in this sim? Winds are like you are in a paper plane, blown all over the sky? Try a wind layer of 10+ knots?? In any aircraft? If the real aircraft gyrated that much, youd be sick! The flight model is not OK with wind! Maybe they should get rid of the turbulence? So I loaded up P3dv4 and Active Sky, GSX, and everything else...wow! Simulation returns! Granted without pretty graphics, but at least a simulation. I have wind speed and direction, I have cloud layers, I have traffic...(Live Traffic from Flight1) I have GSX2. I have a simulator back. Granted with the silly cartoon like Orbx P3d graphics! OMG those cartoon houses the size of hotels? But at least there is a sim still there! Super smooth with my MSFS rig! Oh yes its smooth, LM should be proud! I flew a short flight in the Comanche A2A and even the gear worked with MCE commands! Remember the funky gear control in the A2A Comanche? Works in MCE! Anyway theres my moan! If you go back to P3d and see the difference, its apparent, Asobo are failing to update the fundamentals! Wind being the big one! My god a Longitude becomes a paper plane in a 20 knot wind! Its sad! 😝
February 14, 20215 yr You we’re bored with P3D too, which is why you moved to MSFS in the first place. If you were content with P3D, you would have stayed with that platform. To date, no platform has really given us a reason to fly. I’m hoping GFO fills that gap. Matt King
February 14, 20215 yr Perdy only works for so long then one craves Fidelity. Just like a Valentine. :)
February 25, 20215 yr What a depressing outlook!!! I am not here to say that this MSFS is the best of the best, yet, but neither do I feel bored when I fly my TB21 LionHeart on a round the world tour, overflying the Vesuvio volcano, the Nile valley, the Saudi desert, and now the rugged Baluchistan mountains on my way to the Far East... One only needs sometimes to look OUT of the cockpit and dream, either about what you have seen before in another life, or what you wish you could go and visit! Even in the real world, spending eight hours over an ocean is not that exciting to start with albeit on the most sophisticated aeroplane, neither for the pilots nor for the passengers... Yes, it is boring! But how about using each sim for their respective strengths, at this time, MSFS is for "low and slow" flights, and people who want to spend some time looking at what our planet really looks like and, in addition, fly simple planes that many armchair pilots despise precisely because of their lack of complexity, and, yes, for the stock airplanes, lack of accuracy. Then whenever we need a shot of jet experience, fire up P3D and its hangar full of FSLabs, PMDG, Majestic, Leonardo, etc. In one to two years, many will have made their move to MSFS anyway, it's a matter of SDK to be written, basic bugs to be eradicated, in short make MSFS a mature sim, it's a matter of time and patience. Agree! Your last paragraph says it all. I know I'm just asking too much too soon. But going back in to P3d and experiencing PMDG/A2A etc....😉 I'll be a happier chap when the Aerosoft CRJ is out, I know the MCE flows very well for this aircraft and look forward to it. Hopefully everything will work, flow wise? Then there's GSX2 in the pipeline, so that's something else to look forward to. I look forward to choosing a gate and getting ground services there, instead of nothing unless I choose the Asobo pre selected gate! Onward and upward. 🤞
