December 16, 200619 yr I am in Chicago and get errors every time FS attempts to download the weather. Any one know if their server is down? Howard Jetline Systems: Intel 8th Gen Core i7 8700K (4.8GHz Overclock); GTX 1080 Ti; LG Curved UltraWide 3440x1440 Monitor .
December 16, 200619 yr It's been down since yesterday the 15th. Just tried it at 1148 EST and no luck. Had a friend in Ohio try it yesterday with no luck. Hope they fix it soon. Craig

December 16, 200619 yr the seattle area was hit by a high wind storm causing over 1,000,000 homes and businesses to loose power thursday night (12/14/06). 100,000s are still without power on 12/16/06.as microsoft is located in the seattle area, it is likely that the weather server got hit and hasn't yet been brought back on line.-- D. December 16, 200619 yr >I am in Chicago and get errors every time FS attempts to>download the weather. Any one know if their server is down? For times when fs2k.zone.com is down, I suggest having FSMetar as a backup. It's a free download and a seamless interface to FS9 or FSX ( via FSUIPC I presume ). Just start FSMetar and then FS9 or FSX and you'll have real-world weather back. http://personal.telefonica.terra.es/web/fsmetar/ Paul
December 16, 200619 yr Commercial Member Much bigger things than the FS weather server went down in this too - Valve's entire Steam system was down for several days too. December 16, 200619 yr Well I hope that all the folks stuck in that mess are doing well. I can live without real weather for a while.
December 17, 200619 yr i was without power because of the wind for about 28 hours. the nighttime temps in seattle are now dropping below freezing and i'm happy my power came back before the temp drop.i have wood stove, camping supplies, and winter camping/survival trainig so i'm fine when the modern world fails (though some are not: some neighbors though bringing a BBQ grill into the house for heat was a good idea ...). there are still 100,000s in the greater seattle (and oregon for that matter) without power who are having greater challenges than FSers wanting to fly with real weater.-- D. I hope it was a gas BBQ grill, if it was charcoal you probably saw them for the last time. Seriously though, I feel for you and your neighbors. I lived through hurricane Isabel and her aftermath. Without power for 4 days, but luckily it was in September so freezing temps were not an issue. Good Luck to you allJohn M
December 18, 200619 yr gas will kill ya' as quickly as charcoal.specifics on the incident -http://www.kingcountyjournal.com/apps/pbcs...=73266263032859-- D. Scobie, feelThere support forum moderator: https://forum.simflight.com/forum/169-feelthere-support-forums/
December 18, 200619 yr I was still not able to download real weather today (18-12-06) at noon... anyone else with the same problem or is the rain coming down in your pc again?nb. installed IE7 on the 14th and thought for the #### of a time the inability to download weather is because of the new version of IE.
