Radio panel on second computer?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Is it possible in some way to use a radio panel on a LAN connected second computer?

Possibly.

There are definitely apps that let you run your radio panel on an ipad.

you can of course alt click a glass  panel and move it to another monitor on the same computer but it trashes your frame rate and does not give you any knobs just the display.

Yes and that is the problem, plus: I want to use it in VR (yes I then have to remove the VR headset for some moments now and then).

Saitek radio panel might be handier, I can learn how to operate that without looking I suppose, but is is nowhere on stock here in the Netherlands.

Everything flight sim related regards hardware is in very short supply in many countries at the moment. Here in the UK, I was so lucky to purchase my Honeycomb Alpha yoke from Amazon(UK) during the lockdown last year, and I saw a set of Thrustmaster TPR rudder pedals. I couldn't believe my luck so I bagged both items which almost broke me financially at the time but I knew if I didn't grab that opportunity, I wouldn't get another chance for months.

Same with those Logitech/Saitek radio panels, can't get them for love nor money at the moment for reasonable prices.

Racing steering wheels, Joy sticks, throttle quadrants, all in short supply with high demand. Goodness knows when I'll be able to purchase the Honeycomb Bravo throttle quadrant. I'm not paying exorbitant prices to the scalpers for one either.

Yeah I know. Been waiting for my 3080 card for 2 months now.

I feel your pain. I've been wanting to upgrade my PC too. High-end GPUs, PSUs and CPUs are all in short supply. It's all to do with the lockdown of course last year when practically everything was shut down. Now manufacturers are playing catch-up with the high demand. It'll be months before things get back to  any sense of normality.

Will look into that also, but the mobile companion app already works.

If you have an IPhone or IPad this works great. Not free though.

I use the AP app all the time but I've tried them all and they work great on my wifi network.

I only wish the IPhone would allow more than one app to run at a time.

Mobile Companion may stop working once you switch flights, I believe it does lose connection if you switch to the main menu so don't assume it will be functional on your next flight.   Just restart the local server and also your web access will need reloading.  That's my experience with it so far.

I usually have problems with the firewall on my laptop. This is the best support page I have found, even a little server test.
