Peter can you explain exactly what you did when you write that you assigned a key into P3D? I must be getting thick in the head. I have not discovered how to move an envshade mod into the sim while the sim is running...

Hey Sherm,

I’m not at my pc right now. But iirc I went into the P3D keyboard assignment settings. Up top is a search box in which I either typed “shaders” or “refresh” and voila, you’ll see the option to create a key. Works really great for testing individual settings literally on the fly 😎

@GSalden Hi Gerard,

was it you that just posted a really good explanation of each Envshade setting in another thread? I swear I just saw it in our forums, but no my old brain is leaving me hanging again....😎

I’m particularly interested in Envshade settings that make the VC darker or brighter (with EA off).

Hi Pete,

That was not me. And I have a real size cockpit so I have never tried making a VC brighter or darker.

I believe you have to adjust aircraft shadow depth if I’m not mistaken.

Same here...I don't see any difference. Also, clouds, OH those V5 clouds...they look disastrous, like old white sweater pulled by puppies...LOL. Not sure where and what to adjust. Not sure if is bad during the day or sunset. I've applied many "adjustments"  recommended by some more experienced users but  EA and Envshade doesn't do nothing. Once I turn off EA, EA looks better but lights in VC are atrocious.

I am hooping that update (LM) will bring some changes. Other than that Sim performance is way better than before.

I agree also v5 just ain’t there yet.

i have both installed. 
Thou flying  mostly in v4.5 hf3

with tomatoshade R&D preset.

woth tweaked hdr and monitor settings 

and looks incredible in 4k.

if only I had the performance in v4 in some instances with heavier airports as in v5.
