February 27, 20215 yr Moderator Hi there, I’m sill dicey on using shader mods, and was wondering if anyone here can help. To make things for myself easier, or so I thought, I just purchased Envshade, installation went fine, but I’m not sure it’s effecting anything in P3dv5hf1. I was using it without EA on. im still reading the manual, but any beginner envshade tips would be greatly appreciated 😎. February 27, 20215 yr I just purchased Envshade as well and i have the same problem, Looks like it's default after installation using EA. I will follow this thread.
February 28, 20215 yr TOGO, which produces the ENV products as a Facebook page where the moderator is quick to respond to questions.. As for operations, once you set a mod, be sure to save it. Then hit the tab that starts P3D so that the mod you have chosen will run. Unlike PTA you cannot change mods once the sim is running. fwiw, here is my current setting Sherm
February 28, 20215 yr Author Moderator Thanks Sherm. Turns out it’s working just fine. I apparently made too many color/contrast etc. changes already on my monitor. After I reset my monitor settings, I followed you advice, and voila, envshade did its thing and it’s beautiful! Thanks again 😎 Pete I9-13900K, RTX 4090, DR5-6000MHZ, CORSAIR ICUE H150I ELITE, ASUS PRIME Z790-P, THERMALTAKE TOUGHPOWER GF3 1350W, WIN 11
February 28, 20215 yr As some of my recent posts suggest, I have been going back and forth on whether to use EA with Envshade in P3D. I am back using it with AS. I found my sweet spot by reducing saturation. But, still not much joy with the garish dawn and dusk colors, which I think is a design problem. I hope LM corrects this in its next hot fix. Sherm
February 28, 20215 yr Author Moderator I'm in exactly the same boat, I keep going back and forth. There's nothing cooler than coming out of clouds with EA on, but the independence day move like dusk and dawn colors look "a bit" overkill 😉 Hence, I'm going back and forth. However, I did want to enhance the legacy weather, and envshade appears to be doing it very well. February 28, 20215 yr I myself use v4 and v5 v4 with envtex and tomatoshade R&D preset looks amazing. v5 EA off with envtex and envshade. v5 EA On no shader mods but needs to be improved. Once it is improved so long to v4 and mods. cheers mike
February 28, 20215 yr I have the same issues, no matter what envshade does absolutely nothing in v5.1 with EA. havent tried without EA. February 28, 20215 yr Commercial Member Is there a way to reduce Aircraft Shadow Depth lower than 0.5? That seems to make my VC brighter (ultimately what I'm trying to achieve having purchased Envshade), but I'd like to make it go even brighter without touching the rest of the scenery/environment brightness. February 28, 20215 yr I have a problem where sometimes EnvShade starts and sometimes it wont! I run it as Admin and have updated it. A clean install helps but then it fails to open again after that. It's running in the task manager but the ui fails to open on the desktop!
March 1, 20215 yr Add me to the list of folks that cannot find a happy medium with envshade. I’ve tried about 3-4 times w different settings, but I just can’t find a sweet spot. The first few times my VCs were ridiculously dark-so much that I could barely read instruments. Third time I didn’t notice a difference but when I turned it back off, things seemed to be working well without it.

Then you te-load the shaders ( see P3D controls menu ) and you instantly see the changes . Only for haze you need a restart of P3D. 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0
March 1, 20215 yr thanks for the clarification, Salden....btw, are you publishing any EnvShade mods as you did for PTA? Sherm

Reload shaders and see the result right away . 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0

Hi Gerard - thanks a bunch for your help, I truly appreciate it. How and where do you reload the shaders, in Envshade or P3d? Also, could you point me to where exactly in those two I reload the shaders? Oops, found it, just had to assign a key for it in P3d 😉 Thanks in advance, Pete I9-13900K, RTX 4090, DR5-6000MHZ, CORSAIR ICUE H150I ELITE, ASUS PRIME Z790-P, THERMALTAKE TOUGHPOWER GF3 1350W, WIN 11
