FSX almost daunting for brand new pilot!

At least you find FS9 is still good for something versus nothing at all... ;-)

I don't recall quoting you on anything... Now if you've been on the record flying Heavies into KLGA in FSX I stand corrected. Last I read FSX mainly saw you in the woods or high mountains. If your taking the ES Beechjet into KLAX on a regular bases (with great FPS) I take back what I said... :-)

Your quote:"Geofa or LL then ducking cities and staying in the woods could>be your thing"I happen to live in Detroit where I do 90% of my simming-and last I looked that qualifies as a city-quite a big one at that."Last I read FSX mainly saw you in the woods or high mountains."Show me where this was ever stated or said by me.These do seem to be quoted by you-over and over....and over...and over.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg

>At least you find FS9 is still good for something versus>nothing at all... :-lol And while I'm at it, I should mention that cities such as Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and my home area of Salt Lake City, look really interesting in FSX, as they are cities that combine city scapes with rising terrain. With a few thousand feet above these areas, I can keep my 25 fps & have the crisp glossy photo-type textures as well. These areas just really look good in the stock FSX, although I do use FSGenesis to farther enhance the terrain mesh.New York, for what ever reason, does take a frame rate hit, and pulls me down to around 14 fps. This is where reverting back to FS9 has the advantage. L.Adamson

"Show me where this was ever stated or said by me."Show me a post where you stated you fly over cities on a regular bases... You've given examples by 'turning off all autogen' to prove a point but I've never known you to be a big airliner type simmer. You've always stayed with GA aircraft and smaller airports. Zero autogen over major cities is not a huge selling point for FSX considering it has been a major feature of the last two versions before this latest release...

"Geeze thats a beaut! Think I'll be getting it and flying it over Detroit!"Make sure you turn on the autogen before you go up (anything less is cheating). :-hah Brian, that's the bird I'm talking about. Try that bird in FSX over New York City. No 'Tweaking' in the world is going to help you with that flight...

"Dillon, is that what you fly?"Brian I can't fly that bird in FS9 let alone FSX (if I had it)... :-lolBefore Geafa says anything, once FSX get's fixed I'll purchase it. I've tried the demo and it's not worth my time with my current hardware.

>FSX can't be 'daunting' because little or nothing works>with it at present....Mileage varies greatly with this sim right now, especially in regards to hardware. But his system is very similar to mine and it runs great for me. The only real issue I have is after flying for an hour or more, it gets very stuttery. Hopefully they are addressing this issue in the (from what I've read) upcoming patch. I have very good FPS everywhere, and smooth. I run with autogen and scenery maxed (with tweaks in the fsx.cfg to control the amount of autogen textures to 750 trees and 2000 buildings). Looks fantastic this way! Also using Track IR 4 which works great too (actually get better FPS using Tir than not). Anyway, it runs good for some people, and not for others. But with his new machine, it should be good.

You asked a question, I gave you an answer. Now I should just leave it alone. :-roll Is it too much work to refute the point I made above???

>Make sure you turn on the autogen before you go up (anything>less is cheating). :-hah >First pic, is a city scape with auto-gen (FS9). Second, is a city without (FSX)! :-hah Now of course, if your're to spend around $30 for GE Pro, you can get the FS9 city to look almost as good as the stock city with no addons, in FSX.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/163539.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/163540.jpg
