June 16, 201114 yr Moderator Are you kidding? This was a 5 year old question.Bill isn't even a member here any longer. The necroposting continues........ Avsim should automatically lock threads that are more than a year old. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
June 16, 201114 yr I'm voting for a dedicated necropost forum section. Let's start finding a solution to all those (still open) 2002 problems! People have waited long enough. :(

People have waited long enough. :((Clapping)I agree. I just dont understand why someone would respond to a question asked 5 years ago, even more so when the guy who asked the question isn't even a member here anylonger. An FSX/FS9 Necroposters subforum wouldn't be a bad idea. :-) Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
June 17, 201114 yr Had the same problem, I added a texture folder and then put a thumbnail.jpg in and then it showed up in fsxHope this helpsWelcome to AVSIM FSX Forum, "where no good deed goes unpunished"; but... thanks for caring enough to post your solution ! :( Personally I appreciate posts to threads on long outstanding issues for ALL the multiple versions of FS which I still use and develop for; I hope you will not be dissuaded from further contributing to, and participating in, online FS forums in the future.A vast amount of work has been (and is being) done by some here to promote better understanding of FS and how to improve its feature set and functionality, including scenery creation / customization. Extensive efforts by numerous "Emeritus FS Illuminati" can be seen in older threads which are still quite valuable resources to maintain online, and which thankfully can still be accessed here via the AVSIM forum system. Many of those threads (IMHO, still pertinent today !) originated in- and were conducted in- the general FS forum... as well as in specialized forums, so I can understand to a newcomer that one might be initially uncertain as to just how one can quote a post from one AVSIM forum into another AVSIM forum while composing a post.IMHO, although posts regarding general scenery development issues are 'sometimes' accepted with interest in the more general FSX forum here at AVSIM, over time, there has been a greater sub-division of topics into more specialized forums, and this particular topic might better be taken up in the AVSIM MSFS Scenery Design Forum here: :Idea:http://forum.avsim.net/forum/123-msfs-scenery-design-forumBTW: You might also find a friendly, helpful community of scenery developers here:http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/index.php FYI: In appreciation for your well-intended efforts, I have opened a thread on this topic here:Finney Crosshairs in FSXhttp://forum.avsim.net/topic/337851-finney-crosshairs-in-fsx/PS: IMO, AVSIM FS forums sometimes compel use of hip waders and body armor to deal with the astonishingly cynical and self-concerned attitudes of some posters who are allowed to prevail here by forum administrators.IMO, public forum posts should be regarded as intended to be read by anyone who may have an interest in a topic, even years later, as it may solve a problem or resolve a curiosity or stimulate further ideas which may eventually result in a better FS experience in the future for all to enjoy; otherwise one might simply communicate via private messages on a "Bulletin Board" system rather than even having open public forums !AFAIK, whether one's forum history is more or less than 1,000 or 2,000 posts, it is never appropriate to trounce newbies regardless of one's sense of 'entitlement'.It is apparent that the above posts were checked to determine if "Bill" was still a member here; I should think that one could also just as easily seen that the party who resurrected this thread was a newbie with a history of 1 post, and that info may also have been intended for all to benefit from it, and not just "Bill".Indeed, FS scenery developers have migrated to more specialized forums at AVSIM; some have even migrated to entirely separate websites dedicated to FS Development interests. One might wonder how many have left AVSIM entirely due to preference for an environment that inspires- (and maintains via benevolent moderation)- appropriate interpersonal communication and consideration... with a goal of enhancing the enjoyment of FS.Please exercise better discretion, and be helpful, NOT insensitive... to newcomers to the FS Community. :( Hope this helps ! :( GaryGB
