REVIEW: Aerosoft Belin Brandenburg

I too was a bit disappointed with this addon, i bought it on release, but as you say it seems deserted. Infact i thought there was something wrong with my installation, and re-installed it thinking there were parts missing. Sadly not.

I hope they look to improve it with future updates.

This was one of my most looked forward to airports in europe, as I was planning to fly to it fairly often, I'm now in two minds, do I buy it now and use it, hoping that aerosoft give it some major updates or wait?

Maybe my expectations were too high, and i realise we're in the middle of a pandemic and flights are down on normal, but it just seemed strange, i think there were 2-3 AI aircaft parked up on the couple of times i have flown in or out. But to me there semed to be  no feeling of a big International airport, nothing landing, or taking off, no aircraft movement on the ground.  No real signs of life.

When I seen the promotional trailer from Aerosoft I thought just from that it looked devoid of life. It’s a shame when this happens because what developer will touch EDDB now when you have a subpar version out there already.
We can only hope they update this soon as am sure sales will be sluggish.

You want an airport addon to generate flying AI traffic? That seems like that would be out of scope for a scenery item.

No, other addons have a feeling of an operating airport. this one just seems deserted.

This clearly shows that there's a learning curve for developers - and not all of them are successful. I think Limesim is the developer behind this and they did some quite decent seceneries for FSX/P3D. Maybe it also shows that nowadays the expectations are high and decent is not enough anymore. Okay, if you are from Berlin and desperate for your home airport, you would certainly get it. But as a rewarding destination? Here's where liveliness or "immersion" comes into play. And then there's the lack of skills or knowledge when it comes to winter textures. Thank you for reviewing it, saved me a few bucks as I will pass on this one for now.

I don't think Aerosoft are likely to give it the sort of major updated that would be needed to make it actually look good. They may tweak things and fix things, but at the end of the day, this airport has been designed by someone (I don't know who) to look as it does, and it's never going to be rebuilt to look significantly different.

Thanks Mr. Filbert. Definitely a "must not have" airport.
