Hi Al,

I use 4K Video Downloader. The free version is limited to 30 videos a day and cannot download entire channels/playlists, but otherwise it works just fine, has been safe so far and only displays ads in an unobtrusive manner (at the bottom of the main window, without obscuring any functionality).

I've been using it in various versions for years with Win7 and Win 10. No issues of any kind. Just keep it up to date, you get a reminder when new versions are released.

That means only one thing, you have searched bad, and you are a lazy one. One of my friends have windows 7 and is using only convert youtube to mp4, it is very fast, and does not have malware. With it you’ll never encounter problems like being redirected to a weird site. If you are interested, have look, and experience it ones. If you’ll like it, just use in on a dailybase. I understand that finding a good youtube downloader is a troubleshooting deal, i passed already through it.
