At the De Young Art Museum in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco there is a room dedicated to Far Side cartoons.

In one corner is a mockup of a microscope that reaches to the ceiling.  When you up though it you see a huge eye looking down at you..

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

I've often wondered whether what we perceive to be this vast universe isn't in reality a petri dish in some alien's laboratory... :laugh:

I've often wondered that myself Fr. Bill.

But I have a different take on it.

What if the universe is just the collection of atoms that make up the head of match in a matchbox on top of a stove.  How far down in the box is our match in?
