Am I crazy? Have I not found it?

The most complicated finicky piece of equipment in the sim, and I have to pause my track IR and use the twitchy mouse countrol?

Please tell me that there is another way and I'm just blind

what exactly do you mean by GPS? the VFR map?

A number of the Garmin 'bugs' have their own keyboard definitions (in the autopilot and NAV radio section of the keyboard bindings). The heading, altitude, radio tuning, and VOR CRSes.

But there is no way to enter ICAO codes with the keyboard or anything like that.

There actually are apps that will display things like a fully functional g1000 on an ipad so you can adjust the knobs on the touch screen but the app is not cheap and neither is the ipad.

What would be ideal is when you pop the g1000/g3/gn530 into a separate window it actually also displaced functional knobs.  If the same thing worked as a floating window in VR it would likely be even more useful.

You can use some midi equipment like the Behringer XTouch mini paired with Lorby Axis and Ohs for example, works great but needs a bit of time configuring the thing once.

I got the Class Echo specifically because MSFS does not have the ability to map the range or the inner and outer control knobs of the GPS.

The Class Echo uses SPAD.next for controlling everything. Spad can map controllers too, so I guess you could use SPAD to map the features you need to the keyboard or controller buttons (I prefer the Class Echo).

A little side note. A couple MSFS beta testers are reporting that the Beta and the LVAR bridge from Spad next will not work together (MSFS CTDs) so Spad "may" lose LVAR features after the next MSFS update until it's patched.
