I am sure that HiGiSimtech could improve weather inside MSFS with the new features you mentioned above.

I am sure of only one thing, I would welcome Asobo finishing the job. It looks like the foundations are already in place but here like in so many things, MS released a half baked product. I have great respect for the AS people, but I don't look forward adding a weather addon in MFS. Asobo has to deliver what they promised. They said they would rehab the weather engine in the following months.

You're right that here at Avsim there's a fairly large and extraordinarily vocal contingent that isn't happy with MSFS. I think that's down to a combination of the demographics here (I'd hardly be the first to note that older white men are overwhelmingly prone to a certain "entitlement"), a closely related resistance to change, and -- maybe most importantly when it comes to how MSFS has been received -- a fixation on certain aspects as the be-all-and-end-all for a "serious sim."

...

This has become a ridiculously long post, but this has been bothering me for a while. "Make MSFS weather more like P3D with ActiveSky" is not where I want to see it go, but this vocal contingent we're talking about won't be happy unless it does. Does that make them the "real simmers" and me the "Xbox gamer"? I don't think so.

I am normally loathe to make "this!" type comments, but in this case I can't help but say:   I regret that I have but one like to give for this post.   That nail's head has been smashed, sir (I am assuming from the name 😉 ), and amen to that.

Since MSFS weather is already awesome there is no need to alter it in any way.  Certainly not with a hefty addon.

Cheers

Up to today weather was accurate enough. But today I did a flight from Amsterdam to Geneva and it was yesterday’s rainy weather....

So imho weather needs to be more accurate....
