They still haven't fixed the "USR/USER" waypoint issue?

Recommended Posts

I would hope that those annoying USR/USER waypoints issue would be fixed by now, but they still appear in my flight plans. Is this something Asobo plans to address? The only 2 planes I fly mostly with flight plans are the FBW A320 and the TBM930 with WT mods.

I thought it was fixed with the latest patch? There was something in the changelog about it

They still show up for me, at least in the TBM 930 with the latest WT mods.

Fixing the USR waypoint issue requires gutting the entire flight plan system, which is built on the FSX fs9gps based system, and cannot understand complex ARINC leg types. As a result, these USR fixes are inserted to provide a close approximation of the flight path for these leg types. This allows for more procedure flexibility at the cost of these goofy fixes.

With the building of the new G1000 NXi, we are totally rethinking the flight plan system, flight path vectorization, and how it works. We will first be building it and proving it out with the NXi only, but then we will be moving to make it the default system for sim avionics.

So, definitely working on it, yes.

Awesome to hear! I have been patiently waiting for a revamped flight plan system that behaves more realistically. What exactly is the g1000 NXi or NXi?

nm, found a preview of it. Looks promising!

You're mostly always involved in the best sim news of the day, Matt 🙂 Thank you!

I thought the version included with MSFS was the NXi version. Is this just improvements/rework for it or is the MSFS stock version the older G1000 (non-NXi) version?

This has been the main reason that I have not yet purchased Navigraph yet, if you cant fly the auto fly the arc - dont need the arc
