June 1, 20215 yr Just thought I'd make a hello post! I'm 34, a Brit, been simming since FS98, not so seriously back in the day, but take it more seriously now. I'm currently saving to upgrade my RIG so I can get in on that FS2020 magic. I have an Hours flight time in real life, and hope to continue having lessons this summer. I have clocked 1 hour in a Robin DR200 from EGSR in the UK. I am hungry to get back into the sky for real! I have some questions about VATSIM, I'd like to start using real ATC from these great Virtual aviation lovers... Anyone give me a like, little run down of the training process for it? do you have to learn before you go in or is there a "server" for learners too? also do people still VATSIM/any other ATC service on FSX? Until I upgrade I'm stuck with the steam edition of FSX to play with, and Xplane11.

June 1, 20215 yr There are really great Vatsim tutorials on YT! Worth starting of that way! Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.

I've also heard about Pilotedge, though not done as much looking into it. which ATC system do you all think is best? Thanks for the welcome!
June 2, 20215 yr PilotEdge is limited in coverage (Western USA) and is subscription based and much more advance. I would not start with them. They are less 'forgiving' with mistakes. I would start with VATSIM... Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.
