June 2, 20215 yr Can someone explain the exact method of this add o. Simply replacing the default scenery folder does not work. Do you simply include in the existing folder so as to have an 8+ GB folder, or is there some other method? Thanks

I know that this is a tongue in cheek observation, but the simple fact is that there is a huge move away from manuals to "video Tutorials" Most of these are fairly bad, unauthorised, and no one has any real idea of the qualifications of the "tutor" Sad but true. For the OP, may I suggest an email or +contact us" to the developer who may be able to satisfy your query, particularly if no-one here can help you. Regards Tony Tony Chilcott. My System. On the other hand, wiritng manuals is a HUGE PITA. You never find a suitable form that answers all questions. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days

It is just a little sad for me because I see the almost mandatory manual as a "once was" item. It seems that some devs are charging more for their product and providing less now. Same with the platform developers (MSFS2020 at least) who subtly rely almost totally on 3PDs to provide information on their product. Where would this sim have gone if it were not for the community who had to work out the key mapping system, among other problematic areas of operation, and pass it on to the community at large. At release, there was a bit of a hullabaloo about the lack of information or manual that MS and/or Asobo simply did not respond to. Also as previously stated, quite a few video tutorials were roughly put together, imparted the wrong information and very few were remotely authenticated by anyone except the tutor. That is NOT to say that there aren't some very good videos available, but how is a rookie to know which ones to follow to get the best advice. Personally, I would much prefer to read a manual and I get a better comprehension from written material. That is just me though and I am very sure that the reverse is true for many people. Though a little late now, I would like to offer my very heart-felt gratitude to the many un-named simmers who stepped up to the plate and guided a huge number of people through the installation process and beyond after the release of MSFS 2020. Their value to the community is priceless. Back on topic, I had never heard of the software so I googled it and I too, could not find any information, nor is there any contact information on the developer (that I could readily see) That, in itself, is probably a red flag with regard to purchase. June 4, 20215 yr Author Unfortunately I found out AFTER purchasing from X-Plane store the developer is out of business, the extent of the manual is: Create a backup of folder "default scenery" (X-Plane 11\Resources\)*** Move "default scenery" folder from downloaded archive to the (X-Plane 11\Resources\) with replace". I have requested support from X-Plane or refund if they can't /won't provide it.

But for an evolving platform like X-Plane, MSFS or FlightGear, a wiki would be the better option since it won't have to be distributed to cuistomers and can easily be updated in parts. Sadly, even Laminar ignores documenting a good part of their simulator and - worse - SDK. While it may drive up costs, hiring a person to create and maintain proper documentation is quite beneficial. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days

There is a bit of information for developers here: https://developer.x-plane.com/docs/ and they also maintain a slack channel for (commercial) developers where questions are usually answered within a few minutes. I would say that the lines of communication for commercial devs are very good. The manual for the end user is included in the /Instructions folder of the main X-Plane folder. There are 8 different manuals there, and they are being updated once in a while as well. Cheers, Jan

I'm not interested in developing for XP to make money and that leaves me with years old forum posts, that developer page and whatever else a search engine coughs up. And the amount of information sometimes just isn't what I need, espcecially when it comes to practical examples for XPLM-related code. On the upside, the published file format specifications are helpful. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
