Flashing instruments

Featured Replies

Now and then my instruments suddenly starts flashing when I fly the Cessna 172. Usually it helps to restart the computer, but's really anoying. Any idea what's causing this?

Come here you big, beautiful cup of coffee and lie to me about how much we’re going to get done today.

Not sure exactly what you are describing, but I get something similar with certain anti aliasing settings.  It might be worth experimenting with these a little.

Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

I thought that was a reflection from lightning when I first saw your video.

It certainly isn't a common problem in MSFS as I have never seen anyone raise it before.  So it must be something specific to your computer or setup.

Also, are you definitely using TAA anti aliasing?  The other methods can be a bit buggy.

Also, a graphics driver swap might be an idea. Either see if there is a newer driver, or roll back to an old one and see how you go.  I hope you find a fix.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

Thanks for taking time to comment. I've also noted that my flaps stays in whatever possion they where when this "flashing" starts, at least visually as the flap lever still moves in the cocpit when applied. I'll try to update my graphic driver, and if that isn't do it, I'll maybe have to disconnect all of my peripherlas one at the time to see if there maybe is a conflict issue at hand. I've never noticed this issue before around mars this year and the only new peripherlas I've got after mars is my Elgato Stream Deck so I'll start whit that. Forgot to mention that I'm alredy using the TAA  anti aliasing and my graphic card is a RTX 3070.

When you stop the video on the specific flashing  image, you see that it is the whole panel which gets illuminated not the instruments which don't change. And the flash does not illuminate outside of the aircraft. So I would rule out TAA or the GC driver.

In Options>Controls>Instruments & Systems>Electrics check whether the glareshield or panel or cabin lights command is not assigned to another command in the game.

That is a good spot!  Especially as his flaps are playing up.  It could be a controller issue.

It smacks of a double assignment specially as Cloudpiercing has a streamdeck.

Thank you Dominique for your tip. I'm almost" sure you nailed it. I've the "light" letter "L" assigned to a button on my Stream Deck and I'll try to unassign that button and see if that does it. Again, a big thanks for taking the time to help me out 😁.
