June 15, 20214 yr Can anyone tell me the latest P3D v4.5 stable GTN Trainer please? Or tell me any stable trainer version? I have 6.64.2 and according to my event viewer it has been the cause of CTDs in my recent P3D 4.5 setup. Thanks
June 15, 20214 yr 6.62.4. is it 😉 But you can go back to 6.21. for a test.. Edited June 15, 20214 yr by Bert Pieke Bert
June 15, 20214 yr Author I will DL fresh install. See how it goes. It CTDs again I will start at 6.21 and work it through. Thanks Bert
June 16, 20214 yr Hi, You might want to try something out which might help. can you please manually edit the RealityXP.GTN.ini file in notepad and add the following: [GTN_750_1]LogTrainer = 5 DebugValue = 1 The next time you fly the GTN 750 Unit#1, it might report more details about any internal problem in the RXP GTN log files.
June 16, 20214 yr Author Would that be in users app data directory? Also had a thought. I never had atioglxx.dll problems with GTN in FSX. But, at the same time I was setting up P3dv4 I also updated to the latest Garmin Trainer, 3.0 something. I did because I was tired of the notification popping up at random times and sometimes hanging apps. Could it be that the newest Trainer does not play well with atioglxx? Thanks
June 16, 20214 yr This is the RXP GTN ini file in your aircraft folder, where all the per-aircraft settings are saved.
June 16, 20214 yr Author The GTN 750 will be in ATA Bonanza N41G. I don't think A2A installs to simobjects. Anyone know where?
June 16, 20214 yr If you open the GTN settings panel, the full path to the panel.cfg is in the title bar of the GUI window. From then on, you'll find the aircraft folder upstream!
June 19, 20214 yr Author I uninstalled my GTN trainer today prior to installing a fresh copy of RXP GTN to P3d. When I launched the install process rather than download and install the current trainer it scanned and located Trainer version 6.50 something in the directory Garmin Trainers. What I had uninstalled was in a different folder Garmin>GTN>Trainer. The version I uninstalled I manually installed in late January after a forced windows update shut down my GTN software. It apparently worked on FSX but caused conflicts for atioglxx on P3d. So, I did a half hour test flight after setting up my A2A Bonanza. I even let it idle on the ground for 30 minutes after loading my route. No CTD. I hope it's fixed now. Incidentally, GNS worked flawlessly. Just saying.
June 19, 20214 yr Author Thought I had my GTN/atioglxx CTD problem fixed. I do not. I flew a successful 30 minute flight last night with no problems. this morning I set up a short hop, KBFD to KBLE. Checking out Orbx airports you see and right after I made contact with Westmoreland Regional/Arnold Palmer tower CTD occured while flying the rwy 23 ILS approach. I will try to copy the event details to see if anyone can ad GTN Simulator.exe 6.62.4.0 5ecfde0d atioglxx.dll 27.20.21003.1028 608c16a3 c0000005 0243426e 1c3c 01d76506c0d90a8c C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Trainers\Packages\GTN\Bin\GTN Simulator.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\u0367126.inf_amd64_0be600f035c9a672\B367016\atioglxx.dll ef9f39ba-448e-4c78-9e5d-7bb93e464391 Prepar3D.exe 4.5.14.34698 5e94b5c2 KERNELBASE.dll 10.0.19041.964 812662a7 c0020001 0000000000034b89 e84 01d76505086a29e4 D:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Prepar3D.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\KERNELBASE.dll d70d31b4-b180-4a6f-bd94-c4c50c73e4bf One hit 10 minutes before the other. if anyone has any ideas from anyone who successfully uses GTN in Prepar3d 4 or 5 like a Trainer and atioglxx combo that works?
June 20, 20214 yr Author I had posted earlier about this but I am creating a new post hoping my recent investigations will be noticed. I did a clean reinstall of Prepar3d v4.5 Clean reinstall of RXP GTN I thought the problem went away in my first half hour test flight. Yesterday morning did a bit longer test flight, KBFD to KBLE Visual with flight following Cleveland Center. As soon as I established contact with Westmoreland Tower P3D CTD froze again and CTD. I checked the event viewer. Here is what I found. GTN Simulator.exe 6.62.4.0 5ecfde0d atioglxx.dll 27.20.21003.1028 608c16a3 c0000005 0243426e 1c3c 01d76506c0d90a8c C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Trainers\Packages\GTN\Bin\GTN Simulator.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\u0367126.inf_amd64_0be600f035c9a672\B367016\atioglxx.dll ef9f39ba-448e-4c78-9e5d-7bb93e464391 Prepar3D.exe 4.5.14.34698 5e94b5c2 KERNELBASE.dll 10.0.19041.964 812662a7 c0020001 0000000000034b89 e84 01d76505086a29e4 D:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Prepar3D.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\KERNELBASE.dll d70d31b4-b180-4a6f-bd94-c4c50c73e4bf The Kernalbase.dll error occured 10 minutes ahead of the atioglxx fault. Can a Kernalbase32 error set up a cascade of other 32 bit file errors. I observed this order of events last week when I first looked at the viewer. Before I go replacing any files I want to make sure I am selecting the right ones to replace. atioglxx never faulted my GTN Trainer in FSX-Steam But I haven't flown FSX since early half of may and I noticed a creation date 5/29/21 on that Kernalbase32.dll which is thew date of a forced windows update.. Please advise. Thanks
June 21, 20214 yr Author So, I am going to start with the obvious. The creation date on my Kernel32.dll was 5/29. It was also that same day of a forced windows update. I am going to roll back that windows 10 update to the previous version I had before and then test out my GTN in P3d v4. If CTD persists then the atioglxx.dll is the next to be replaced with an earlier version. I will post back what happens.
June 22, 20214 yr Author Okay, so it is past 10 days since the last update. I am going to try a few things as is. Turn off GPU and CPU OC. Reduce settings. Install earlier GTN Trainer. If none of that work, I will so a clean reinstall of win 10 and rebuild everything.

What happens if you fly without ATC... do you still get CTDs?? Reinstalling Windows seems a bit over the top.. However.. removing the OC seems like a really good first step towards a more stable system. 😉 I was getting random kernel errors, once or twice a day for a while which went away when I removed my (modest) CPU OC. June 22, 20214 yr Hi, The P3D error is most likely indicating a problem related to .Net. I've posted about this error a while back:https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/547363-kernebase-error/?do=findComment&comment=3947015 There are other reports in the P3D forum:https://prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=132071 It is not clear though whether one is causing the other here though. What could help is you add the aforementioned debugging lines in the RealityXP.GTN.ini file in the aircraft folder so that it gives the GTN a chance to dump more debugging info in the rxpGtnSim.dll.log file.
