I fly the Spit and the Corsair mostly outside of large urban sprawls in the US and Europe and avoid major hubs (CDG, JFK, Heathrow etc) at reasonable settings, all high except glass cockpit refresh rate (for the Xcub) at medium and clouds at ultra. Terrain detail level is at 170. On the data side photogrammetry is off, everything else is on. The experience is smooth (stutters and pauses are very rare now) except in some places like the LA basin for instance. Japan is curiously rather forgiving in spite of the huge conurbations. Thanks :-) why photogrammetry off ? isnt this a must for VFR ? Thanks Michael Moe Michael Moe

Thanks Michael Moe It brings me stutters when the density of PG building is a little too much (cf. London) and the render is often poor. Yesterday I put it on too see a building that I am sure you know very well, the wonderful Botanical Garden in Copenhagen. It looked terrible, all melted. It is not important for my VFR anyway. I fly a lot in the boonies. Thanks Michael Moe No. Photogrammetry can be a performance hog and really just puts in the sides of buildings (and it sometimes looks terrible - almost like melted!). The standard satellite landscape tiles and AI placement of buildings and trees is pretty good for most people. Edit: Sorry, my post crossed with Dom. As you see, we agree completely anyway! I guess i need to study some more as i have amazing images at 25HZ/FPS Update: Photogrammetry = Big Performance penalty Thanks Michael Moe Edited June 19, 20214 yr by Michael Moe Michael Moe

But my frame rate drops and I get stutters. I find the Asobo default scenery good with the Orbx addon for London - it looks good and holds performance better. June 19, 20214 yr I am happy with the performance when it comes to fps. I have yet to conclude a trip without a CTD though. Im in the middle of troubleshooting that. Edited June 19, 20214 yr by Andreas Stangenes Andreas Stangenes http://www.youtube.com/user/krsans78 Add me on gamertag: Bullhorns78

My main suspect in that regard would be my logitech panels if anything. I am trying to approach ENGM, and everytime I crash when I get close. Plenty of other people there also, so I dont know if it is something with the airport (someone said it causes crashes, but I have mine stock), or it could be because of the MP bug, or something else... But "performance" for me also is about stability, and currently the product is unstable. But to answer the heart of your question, I get good fps (dont count, but it's smooth, and I guess around 30-40 fps) with most sliders set to the right/ultra. But how can we judge the smoothness you enjoy if we don't know your hardware and compare to what we have. With the present dearth of components a lot of us are running subpar machines and are anxious to know whether our weak rigs can cope with the new toy.
