To Steam or not to Steam that is the question

Steam for me seeing as I've used it for years and need SteamVR for VR usage anyway, works just fine for everything i use it for.

You probably know this, but you don't need the SteamVR OpenXR implementation but can use MS Store OpenXR as well, even if your MSFS is the Steam variant. Both have pros and cons and a bit different settings, but I settled with the latter right now (which may change, though - Reverb 1 as well).

Kind regards, Michael

Yeah I use SteamVR for apps in flight, regardless having used Steam for years it made sense to install via that 🙂

To quote a previous reply:

"I'm on the Steam edition but the big downside to Steam is that you don't get future access to the Xbox version like you do with the PC MS Store version. If this had been explicitly communicated to buyers I might have bought the MS Store version instead, just in case I ever wanted to play on the XBOX"

I have an Xbox which my grandson uses when he visits. Why on earth would I want to play MSFS on my Xbox when I have a good PC with TM warthog sticks and rudder attached. The only reason to play MFSF on an Xbox, for my money, is when there are no other options available so the Xbox option is irrelevant for PC users at least in my case and I suspect many others.
