Replacing F1 GTN760/650

Featured Replies

Am looking to replace the old Flight 1 GTN's, specifically in A2a a/c and the Milviz PC6 Porter.

Now, the A2A's come with an installer option to use the RXP gauges, but Milviz don't for the PC6.

Question - is it possible to replace the Flight1 GTN with the RXP one in the PC6?

ok I bought the 750 and 650

I ran the RXP module from the P3D menubar and it prompted me to replace the F1 GTN with the RXP.

The a/c reloaded and now when I popup the 750 or 650 in the PC6, the popup panel works perfectly.  However, the displays in the PC6 VC are totally blank.  I've checked with the A2A C172 which has a 750 config option and it works perfectly there.

Can anyone give me any advice please? @RXP

Hi,

I'll try to assist you with this!

Usually you can use the GUI Panel Assistant | Replace auto-detected gauges to simply modify the existing panel. You just need to take care to properly choose with or without bezel option and you're mostly done.

For 3D cockpit interactions which are however hard-coded in the model, there is a solution which consist in using a gauge which "translates" the commands. It is documented here: https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/570294-f1vcxml-3d-cockpit-knobs-and-keys-tips-and-tricks/

There are a few aircraft which are also adding an "overlay" gauge on top the VC screen, usually to intercept the mouse in order to pop up the gauge in a panel window. However it appears most of these are also interfering because they are not expecting another gauge underneath. In this case simply removing the overlaying gauge from the panel.cfg suffice to correct this problem.

To get started, or to learn from some examples, you might want to also review whether your aircraft is not already having an official mod posted in this topic: https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/521969-official-panel-configuration-mods/

No thanks, I got it sorted 🙂

The problem was that I had only replaced the popups with the RXP gauges, not also done the VC gauges.  When I did those too, and replaced the RXP.ini entries with NO_BEZEL, it seems to have worked fine.

Thanks for the support!
