July 25, 20214 yr I came across this interesting (hybrid) livery of Deutsche BA, a German subsidiary of British Airways, that was a low-cost carrier based out of Munich, Germany, and operated from 1992 through 2008. When branded as Deutsche BA, the airline operated aircraft in a livery similar to British Airways. Of course, notice the German flag on top of the tail-fin, and the triple-colored (black, red and gold) decorative cheatline, running along the length of the plane. Historical snapshot: British Airways attempted entry into other European airlines in 1992, when it purchased a 49% stake in Delta Air, a small German domestic airline, (and, later BA also acquired the remaining 51% to gain sole control of it). The airline was renamed Deutsche BA (dba). The new airline streamlined its fleet primarily into Boeing 737-300/400, and moved hubs to Berlin and Munich. Then, in 2006, it was acquired by Air Berlin, and would be eventually dissolved in 2008. Deutsche BA had never any a/c larger than 737. So, below 747 is a fictional paint. If you wish to see (RW) pictures of this amalgamated livery, please search for e.g. "Deutsche BA Boeing 737-3L9 images". Hope you enjoy these 6 images of Deutsche BA...!! July 25, 20214 yr The 747 is just the most beautiful airplane ever made, IMO! Fantastic livery too! Thanks for sharing. Best regards,--Anders Bermann-- ____________________Scandinavian VAPilot-ID: SAS2471
July 25, 20214 yr Fantastic shots, P_7878!! It's funny, BA once ventured into Germany and Lufthansa did the same in the UK by acquiring British Midland. At the end, both costly adventures failed. The registration of your 747 is interesting: D-GMBH. GMBH is the German abbreviation for "Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung" or "Company limited by shares". 🙂 Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080

Fantastic livery too! Thanks for sharing. Thanks, Anders...! Totally agree, planes have come and gone, but 747 retains its everlasting appeal...🙂...btw, this is a freeware 747 model from OpenSky, to which group I'm always indebted for teaching and nurturing my (non-pilot) interests in jets (big and small), the group is, of course, dissolved now, but, as I recall, a few of the members went on to form the QualityWings ......and this livery just happened to catch my eyes in the Library... 4 hours ago, bernd1151 said: Fantastic shots, P_7878!! Who would know more...🙂...? Yes, such forays into foreign markets, no matter how big the airline is, seems fraught with all kinds of challenges....Here, it looks like, neither direction (Germany->UK / UK->Germany), turned out to be profitable and successful... Regarding reading into this Reg. ID,...🙂..., surely, for DBA (airline), the stocks and shares changed hands often among the various stakeholders....
