Wrong position at gate and touchdown sound

Featured Replies

Hello, When I start my flight and select gate,  my aircraft (Project Airbus A320) is few meters too far from supposed position. This causes that I cannot activate sode jetway.  Almost all payware airports and gate positions  have this problem. I cannot imagine that all those have false afcad.  What parameter is wrong here? Is it located in aircraft.cfg?

Also I cannot hear touchdown sound. Is my contact point settings wrong. A floating problem?

Often the parkings are not precisely set. Just type y and slew the plane with arrow down into the right position. Type y again, make sure parking brakes are set. Then it should work. Alternatively you could push back with shft-p.

The sound problem is different. Maybe the sound file is missing.

Hello Blaunarwal,  Unfortunately I have a problem with slew. If I push Y, my aircraft moves wildly like 400kts to some direction at ground surface. It also goes round and round like a spinning top. I have no glue why this is happening.

If I execute a certain driver (for my thrust levers), I cannot disengage parking brakes by key command.  Only pushing toe brakes disengages parking brake.  Also if I execute one driver for my brake pressure panel, my landing gears move up position and the aircraft crashes to the ground.

I must re-check for the touchdown sound.

There's a fair amount of variance as to where different acft models have their center reference point...some (perhaps your freeware A320) use points at or even forward of the acft nose.

To solve this issue and place acft in a position appropriate for the jetway, I use GSX to customize parking spot positions using the main entrance door as the standard reference point.

The sound issue is not likely a contact point problem--you'd have a bunch of other problems if that was it.  I'd guess it's a missing, misnamed, or corrupt wav file for that sound effect.

When this happend to me it was because the slew controls in the sim was linked to throttle and other strange axis. I cleared them within the sim and set my own joystick axis (and rudder pedals  for nose left / right) and all was good.

100% this. P3D continues FSX's really annoying habit of assuming any controller plugged in is a joystick and assigning default axes and buttons to it. Since keys and axes for slew mode are separate from flight mode, people often forget to delete all the axis and button assignments for slew mode, and even if they do, if you unplug a controller and plug it back in or change the hub it's plugged into, Windows might change its assigned ID number which means P3D will see it as a new controller and assign the stupid defaults again.

One of the little-heralded features of FSUIPC (the payware version) is the ability to assign alpha identifiers to your HID controllers that persist even when the controllers are unplugged or moved to a different USB port.  I have a ton of hardware hanging off my main flight sim PC--multiple joystick devices, throttle quads etc, and not having to do the GUID shuffle every time I unplug or reconnect one is worth the price of admission alone!

Yes, FSUIPC is worth every penny and saved me a lot of times..
