FS2Crew Weekend Update for July 31st!

As you all know, this was a bit of a wild and crazy week for MSFS updates.  One the one hand, we think the updates are great because it shows that MSFS is fully committed to constantly improving the product, but the other hand it's not so great because everything can get broken and people's addons can get thrown into disarray.

I would like to calmly remind people that Flight Simulation is supposed to be a hobby; it's supposed to bring enjoyment to your life, not stress.  If an MSFS update has broken your addons, just relax and perhaps take a break from simming for a day two while the developers work on dealing with the issues.

Flight Simulator has a 1000 moving parts that change, it seems, almost weekly.

It is a very difficult environment for FS developers to operate in due to the constant change.

That said, we just ask that people take a step back and go with the flow a bit.  Grab a beer, go for a walk, just do what you gotta do.  MSFS is still pretty new in a way, and it still really hasn't stabilized yet.   So, please, take a breather.  Some of the comments I've seen on the Facebook forums about Asobo and the MSFS updates defy belief and make you want to quote William Shatner's famous comment directed at  the Star Trek fan base.

You'll recall way back when when people would often ask me about supporting X-Plane and I was like "Well, you know, X-Plane is pretty amazing, but it's hard to support it because Austin, the mad genius that he is, keeps changing everything around all the time".

It appears that's what's now happening with MSFS.

However, we're confident that things are going to start setting down, especially since the X-Box version was released.

MSFS is the future, no question about it.  But there are going to be bumps on the road.  Please accept that the bumps are just part of it.

Pushback Express v2.2 and the FBW A32NX versions:

We're now going back to retest and recheck everything.  The MSFS updates  induced some issues.  It appears the FBW has made some big changes, which we need to account for.

I know, you've been waiting a long time.  I want it out more than you do.  But we to make sure things work with the latest updates because the last thing we want to get a 1000 support tickets on release day saying something doesn't work right.

Our big fancy new website:

I really would appreciate feedback on the new website, good and bad.

If you have ideas to make it better, by all means let us know.  We are open to constructive feedback.

According to our logs, some people are still trying to login into the new website using their "legacy" account information.

We wrote it big bold letters on the home page that you need to create a new account, but some people still seem to miss that.

So, gentle reminder, your old FS2Crew website account was not migrated to the new FS2Crew website.

You need to create a new account.

Mind you, you can use the same name and password.  That's okay.  But you need to register a new account.

Your old FS2Crew downloads:

You can still access your old FS2Crew downloads at:

www.legacy.fs2crew.com

Your old account is still very much alive there.  You can access all your old downloads there.

No, we're not making you buy your addons again.  Your addons are still there and they are fully available for download.

FS2Crew FSX P3D All Access Pass:

Oops, we forget to add the Aerosoft CRJ to the installer app.

We'll fix that today.

For those of you who are sticking to FSX/P3D to protest Asobo (and there's still some of you), the FS2Crew All Access Pass is a pretty great deal.

You're getting 100s of dollars/euros worth of FS2Crew for one low price.

Taxi to: www.fs2crew.com for more info!

No problem Bryan, I think SU5 has divided opinion and we're only seeing the negative side, as you'll know people will always go to forum to complain but hardly go to praise something, I'm sure it will all settle down soon, and we can get the FBW (and others)

Hi Bryan,

concerning the "FS2Crew FSX P3D All Access Pass": Sounds like a really great deal! Thanks a lot for that. Just to make sure: Are ALL 64bit versions of the aircraft mentionted at the P3d sections included? The description states: "P3d v1-5", however from v4 it's been 64bit.

So, is this the chance to complete the P3d v4 collection for EVERY addon mentioned? Or are only for some of them 64bit ones and some others 32bit P3d versions?

And, for the case of the Aerosoft CRJ: Is FS2Crew for the CRJ professional or for the older Aerosoft CRJ without the CRJ-1000?

Thanks in advance.

BTW: I don't even protest Asobo, I just still see a lot of potential in P3d v4 when it's about Airliners 😉 ...because it's the most complete sim I've ever had, concerning addons.

Best regards,

Dominik

Thanks a lot. Got it now!

Hi,

I do have a question regarding the futur a320 fbw FS2crew and the thrustmaster quadrant. I do have the thrustmaster TCA (engine levers, flaps, spoilers, gear) How does the future software interacts with that ? Is there a way to use the software without having for example the landing gear up in the sim but down on my quadrant ?

Thanks

It depends on how often your quadrant transmits a signal to the simulation.

If your hardware sends a signal, for example, every second telling Flight Simulator what the position of the switch is, then it will naturally over-ride any signal FS2Crew sends.

There's nothing we can do about that.

It just means for example if you command gear down, you have to manually move gear down on your external hardware at the same time.

Cheers,
