  1. I wanted to stick with the stable version. Well, the sounds and the overall feeling when hand flying is really good, as well as the visuals. However, the FMS + autopilot are incomplete as stated by themselves. But it's not only that the VNAV knob doesn't work. In a system environment where one automation should be linked to each other to create a smooth and easy flying experience, it's pretty hard to understand, what is possible and what isn't. And that makes the FSS E-Jets very frustrating IMO. I was continuously wondering, under which circumstances I can rely on FMS speed while having to descend in FLCH mode, when it makes sense to let the FMS do things and when I really should fly heading mode and FLCH only,... or in other words: in the 727 you know there is no automation and nothing is connected to each other. In the E-Jets, it's so confusing which automation works with each other, that it's hard to understand, what the real plane WOULD do and what can't be done because of the sim limitations and what can. And that made me stop flying it until the automation systems are finally complete. BTW, the last times I flew it, even the EFB (which I didn't find very well structured) seemed buggy, too - which led to another few frustrating initialization issues. At the last state I tried it, I cannot really recommend it, unless you use the FMS only for the waypoints and takeoff performance and the AP only in for the functions a C182 could do.
  2. The ailerons and rudders are actually interconnected in the real plane. That's what is simulated here. I still couldn't be convinced about the reason of this "real autorudder" - just imagine you're landing in crosswinds, but that's how it works. For taxiing, you can use the rudders, plus differential braking, as needed. That seems to be the way the real pilots do it. But I agree, it feels strange at the beginning. Make sure you rotate before reaching 90 knots, because otherwise the flight dynamics switch to "flight mode". That's obviously a different FS internal mode of "creating" the behavior of the aircraft. Over 90 knots on the ground, the plane will do very undesired things! I highly recommend this tutorial video by a RL PC 12 pilot, who was involved in the development of the plane in MSFS. There's a lot to learn there and it's a great pleasure to hear all the details of the procedures by a real pro. Of course reading the manual doesn't hurt either. Cheers, Dominik
  3. Absolutely gorgrous! The PC 12 has become one of my favourite planes. No MSFS 2024 upgrade fee. If you ask me, go and get it.
  4. Sure, that you didn't already own the MSFS 2020 versions of those 2 airports? Usually, if there are new MSFS 2024 versions of a scenery, there is a 100% discount on the corresponding MSFS 2024 product. I had both for MSFS 2020, so it looked exactly like this in my account.

Hi there, I can find a lot of those issues for MSFS 2020, but I've got one for MSFS 2024: After it has worked with hardly any flaws for half a year, MSFS 2024 suddenly started to get CTDs when I was at bigger airports. After some of them, a DXGI ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG (0x887a0006) error message came up. Some people said the NVIDIA app caused this problem. So I uninstalled it. Furthermore, I did what was shown in the video below. At first, it seemed solved. Then the inibuilds A330 ran completely crazy. So, I tried to download it (instead of streaming). After that, it worked normally for a single time. And then the whole sim ALWAYS crashes as soon as the splash screen appears for a few seconds. No chance to even get to any menu or settings page within the sim. I deleted the whole Community folder. Again, the first time it worked. And since the second time, again the same CTDs. Driver of the graphic card (RTX 4070 ti super) is current. I did exactly nothing exept loading the latest mandatory update of the sim. But the described problems started before that. Very frustrating. I can's touch the rolling cache, nor any graphic settings in the sim. And I have no idea, where the problems are coming from. First I thought, it had to do with Beyond ATC, the FSLTL AI traffic models, TrackIR or APL. But it also happens with ALL of them deactivated. The only suspicious thing so far was, that the WASM folders are not where they should be and are very incomplete. I feared it would be a hardware issue. But MSFS 2020 runs smooth and stable with quite some complex addons installed. And anyways, everything else on my system is running stable, too. Have you got any idea, where to start troubleshooting? My system: Intel Core i7 9700K @4.4 GHz, ASUS Prime Z390-P, 32 GB DDR4 RAM, Nvidia RTX 4070 ti Super, BeQuiet 850W PSU. Thanks in advance. Best regards, Dominik

  7. Can you tell me if your airports will be made compatible with MSFS 2024 with the licence that can be purchased for MSFS 2020? Or maybe it is already??

OK, now that I finally had some time again to test it, it really works now! :-) I still can't tell you what exactly was wrong, but this is what I finally did: - disabled all features in DX10 fixer - uninstalled the effects - reinstalled the effects, but did NOT enable DX10 mode in the fixer - launeched FSX - enabled DX10 preview mode in FSX - restarted FSX, but before I checked the Settings in DX10 fixer again, and now they were all switched on, without doing that manually there - FPS are nice again, even with the water effects switched on - changed the Settings in NVidia inspector according to the info in the last post here (didn't notice a change, but left it like that) In FSX and in DX10 fixer all the settings are the same as before. I just changed the order of enabeling them. Very strange because I still don't know what was wrong, but most important is thath it works now ;-) Thank you again for all the helpful comments!   9. OK, after some time I've uninstalled and reinstalled Steve's DX10 fixer with no result. Then I wrote an eMail to Steve Parsons. He suggested that some textures are in 32bit format by mistake, probably the water effect textures (because the problem only occurs when I switch on the water effects). These textures were created by my REX2. BUT: Could anyone tell me where these water EFFECT textures are in FSX and which format they should have? In REX2 there are some options you can choose from before installing the textures. However there is no option for the format of the water (effect) textures, but only for the resolution.   10. Hi, I just bought it and in my 182 the lower right knob of the right screen "FMS" almost doesn't work at all. All the other switches work fine, with the blue ring appearing around the knob to show which knob exactly can be moved. Strange, the knobs that you mentioned all seem to work. Any experience with the problem with the "FMS" knob? In the 2D popup window, the knob (inner and outer) works, but in the AUX mode, even in 2D view not all functions seem to work properly (e.g. moving the "cursor" with the outer knob sometimes works and sometimes it doesn't), thus it's not possible to customize the panel. If there is no solution, I'm gonna report it as a bug in the Carenado support form then.
  11. Well, I'm just about to fit all my small airplanes with the RXP GPS. That's exactly why I haven't purchased a single Carenado plane with the G1000. It might look nice, but apart from the known limits of this system at Carenado's airplanes, I just think the clickspots are difficult to handle on a PC in most of the G1000 panels that I have so far (Lionheart Epic Victory, Iris DA-40). That's why I don't fly them very often. So if you really want to have a G1000 equipped plane why not take the Kingair, C182 or Cessna Citation Mustang by Flight1. Might not be cheap either, but at least it should work really well. For Carenado I still have the opinion that a combined steam/glass cockpit is the best solution. Medium system depth with a perfect look + system depth from the RXP GPS. So why paying so much money for a model which is already availible in good quality (excluding FDE). Certainly not only because of the business interior^^ That's why I do not wonder if this should be quite unpopular.
  12. Hi together! Since I have Steve's DX10 fixer I have a strange problem: As soon as I focus any water in FSX I get a HUGE drop of FPS, usually down to 5-6 fps even with the default ultralight plane at the default scenery. As soon as I turn the view "over land" everything runs normal. When looking into the land, I still get about 12 fps with the Airbus X, ORBX Brisbane + AI traffic for example. So it's clearly a problem with the water. I've got REX 2 installed, with 1024 bit textures (as I always had before when I flew in DX9 mode), with the "optimized for DXT5" option activated. But even without that the problem existed. The problem occurs as soon as I set the water effects to any "normal" position, and even below I get bad fps. Does anyone know what could be the problem?   13. Strange because 1.5V was the default Setting before I changed anything. So I guess it's better to set everything back to standard before anything is damaged. Unfortunately I learned about the AMD "black editions" when I already had the current one. So I don't think it will be worth buying another AMD if I have to upgrade the MB anyway. I'm fucussing an i5 + corresponding MB now which should be available for 300€ or less. That's still within my limits. So I'm better flying some more GA at the small airports and leave the big ones to FS2004 for the last time until the upgrade. @mjrhealth: Oh yes, that's definitly a frame rate killer I realized!^^ Thanks again for the help.
  14. First of all, thanks a lot for your quick and useful replies! Wow, that's a hell of a difference! Didn't know a newer AMD CPU wouldn't be compatible with my MB. So far I thought anything that has an AM3 socket would work^^ OK, indeed I already tried to overclock my current CPU a bit, but only from 3.0 to 3.15 GHz because I have the default cooler installed and now the CPU temp goes up to 55°C if it's really busy. Didn't want to go higher. Apart from that this was my first experience in overclocking anything at all. ;-) The second Problem - from my unexperienced Point of view - is that BIOS shows 1.500 V as the maximum core voltage (which I have now even exceeded a bit). Furthermore this CPU can only be overclocked by increasing the bus speed (done: from 200 to 210), not by increasing the multiplier! So, question from a beginner in overclocking: Can a further exceeding of the voltage be dangerous for either the CPU or the MB? Or is it just a matter of how well the CPU is cooled?? Seems it would be logical to try and overclock my current CPU further (with a new cooling system) while saving money and wait for good times to buy a new MB along with an Intel i5 or i7... Regards
  15. Hi folks! Just came from reading lots of discussions about FSX hardware, as I want to upgrade my system in the near future. This is what I have now: ASRock M3A770DE AMD Athlon II X4 640 (4x3 GHz) 8GB DDR3 RAM NVidia Geforce GTS 450 (1 GB memory) 1 TB WD HDD 7.200 rpm Win7 64bit Had some problems with OOM's which I can handle a bit better now, but I think in a complex aircraft over complex scenery the CPU clearly sets the limits now. That's why I want to buy a new CPU soon. I know "the standard PC simmer" has got an Intel i5 or i7 (or at least the cheaper i3) well overclocked as AMD processors seem not to be so powerful with FSX and NVidia graphic Cards (that's what I read in most forums). I also read this tutorial http://forum.avsim.net/fsx_guide.pdf Now the question is: Is it really worth buying a new motherboard AND an expensive Intel CPU? That would probably also mean the reinstallation of Windows and all programs. Or do you think a new "high end" AMD CPU for half of the price on the current motherboard would do a good job too?   16. You might be right. But with the B-1900 shown as the next incoming project they seem to get bigger and leave that job to Alabeo (?). While I love the B-1900 I just just hope at least that one won't be the next one on the list of G1000 cockpits with such limited use and bad FPS!
  17. The same for me! ^_^ An update with HD textures for the old Stationair and everything would be fine. Unfortunately ORBX didn't include the C-206 in their HD texture upgrades (unlike the C-182RG, C-152 and the Mooney)..

What about developing a set of glass gauges (G1000) with better functionalities which you could buy seperatly at a reasonable price and fill into every aircraft which has the G1000 installed so far? Would that be possible at all? Personally I have a lot of Carenado aircraft, but I stopped buying them at the point when they switched to the standard G1000 (after reading about their functionality and ther performance). Besides FPS are bad enough at my relatively slow system, and I don't see a reason to further slow it down with gauges which obviously have more "eye candy" effect rather than a functional one. Well, for the airplanes themselves, +1 for the Piper Navajo!, also for the Piaggio Avanti or a Cessna Conquest.
  19. Joost, first of all thanks for that quick and long reply! So far it doesn't say anything but "A major error has occured - FSX is restarted now" (I don't know the exact words in the english Win7 version as I only have it in German ;-) Back to the times I used FSX in Windows XP (32bit) I did indeed get this "out of memory" message, but I thought now with the 64bit systems those times should be over (?). Unfortunately I don't know how Win7 actually "says" what has caused a problem, but the description of your problem sounds similar. So I'm asking the same question as fppilot :-) What patch is that? Never heard of that. However I guess 8 GB RAM should be enough - just the problem how much RAM FSX USES actually.. That sounds logical and fits to the description of the problem. Yes it's a quad core. But I'm not shure if I can overclock it at all - at least it's not a "black edition" (as far as I know). I've installed "AMD Overdrive", but I can't change the settings of the "multiplicator", at least I can't increase it over the default value of 15x. Nor can I find any "advanced" switch which should allow any changes at all. Might be my fault as I have no experience with overclocking CPU's. FPS is a different problem. Would certanly be nice to have more :-) But most important is the elemination of the crashes, if that is indeed a seperate problem. So could you tell me more about that "4 GB patch" please?
  20. Hi together! First I just wanted to mention that this is one of my first posts here, so forgive me if it isn't postet in the right part of the forum. The problem: My FSX always crashes after flights that include good complex addons. For example if I fly the Carenado B-200 from Felts Field to Jackson Hole (both ORBX addons) I'm absolutely shure FSX crashes after this flight as soon as I "interrupt" simulation, for example by changing the aircraft, switching between full screen and window mode, open any menu in full screen mode,... This only happens with "complex" addons, especially it seems to have to do with HD textures (e.g. using FSDT Vancouver, some ORBX airports and aircraft like the Aerosoft A320 or newer Carenado models) and it only happens while changing any settings as discribed above after flying over areas which are "exhaustive" to the PC. It never happens simply DURING simulation, even if the FPS are quite bad sometimes. My system: AMD Athlon II X4 640 3,0 GHz 8 GB DDR3-RAM NVidia Geforce GTS 450 WD HDD 1,5 TB (7.200 rpm) Windows 7 (64-bit) I know it's not the fastest CPU anymore and framerates are not that great at some places. But can this alone make FSX crash AFTER simulation?? All the other programs run without any problem, including FS2004 with the highest settings. What can I do? Thanks in advance! Regards, Dominik
