  1. Not yet. I've read several times, that people anyhow havn't been too happy with it as a (partial) FSP substitude.. I'm gonna have a look at it again. Thanks for the advice.
  2. Doesn't it already have it? I havn't been using it for the last few months, but I remember, you can record your own announcments with a microphone, and it will play it for the passengers a few seconds later. Besides that, you can choose any mp3 (or does it have to be *.wav??) audio file for certain circumstances, for example for safety announcments of particular airlines. All in all, if you had FSPassengers back in 32bit times, it's not a complete replacement anyhow. Yes, you can create airlines and fly for them, but you can have little influence on what's going on onboard, and it rather simulates the FA. And there, you must create or search for your own audio files for particular airlines or languages, if I remember correctly. For the FSL A32X, for example, which simulates its own cabin crew, I see no reason to use PACX alongside. So, for many simmers, it might add immersion and be worth the money, especially on sale. But personally, it didn't blow me away.
  3. One of my favourites by LatinVFR - and even one of my favourites in the whole P3d world is Fort Lauderdate - perfect size for good performance and a variety of "missions" that can be done from here: airline hub with interesting destinations (Spirit, Southwest), long haul (BA, for example), but also Biz Jets and GA, and yet not as crowded as Miami (which isn't bad either) - and at last, the sloping runways which supports AI traffic. I love it!! KMIA would also be very nice, but it has a strange texture flickering issue at my system that couldn't be solved so far. I also loved KEYW (old version), and v2 certainly isn't worse. About TE Florida... well it depends on what your preferences are: In P3d it looks awsome, no doubt, but not better than MSFS imo. But it's tens on GBs of textures and you get very long loading times, even with good graphic cards. I loved TE GB just until I decided to switch all VFR traffic to MSFS in favour of a better performance in P3d. If you only want to fly airliners into and from KMIA and KFLL, I doubt it's worth to install the whole state of Florida just because of a small part of the coastline in the Southeast that you see a few minutes. But if you enjoy the views outside the windows in CRZ flight and fly to other locations within Florida, I would recommend it (based on my experience with TE GB and the local airports and airfields). Remember that LatinVFR airports fortunately come with a pretty large area of scenery covered around the airports. Me personally, I'm happy enough with that for a nice approach experience out of an airliner. But it might differ from person to person. Also remember that TE regions only cover the summer season (which might be negligable in the case of Florida). In general, all the newer sceneries are pretty good and have a lot of atmosphere because of the large areas modeled around the airports. They make the scenery feel "colorful" and true. I can't say much about KSAN, because for this place, ORBX just won the battle for me. The Spanish ones (LEMD and LEBL) look very hot, too. I certainly would pick them up now, if I already had older sceneries of them. Don't fly there very often, thus I don't want to invest money again here. But LVFR looks a lot better here on the screenshots than for example Aerosoft and JustSim. As if I hadn't got enough sceneries, I'm thinking to get Bermuda, and maybe Baltimore ...not sure yet, if I'm really gonna fly there enough to justify a purchase.
  4. I got their 757 for 20 $ and their 767 at nearly full price. In the average, it's OK. But since their joke with the 767 extention pack with a Cargo version without a cargo door and GE engines without engine sound (which I didn't buy of course), I can't take them seriously anymore. They won't get a single buck from me, as I see their decisions about already announced products as unpredictable.
  5. Thanks! I have both. In the air, the Twin Otter was really nice. But on the ground, it was a nightmare. Plus a few smaller things like the non-removable yoke and the a missing integration of an advanced GPS (at that time, there was no mod already, at least not for my GPS's). That made me removing it again after all. I'm hoping for a better MSFS version. I'm not too happy with the A330 either ...always had any other problem there, first with the flaps, and at the moment with the throttle assignments... I just have bad luck with their airplanes anyhow. But I know a lot of people are happy with it, and that's good.
  6. Did they increase the regular prices for US sales only?? ...or only for dollar sales? If I go to their website as a European visitor, the regular € prices seem to be as always, if I remember correctly, at least most of them. If they really did, a very cheesy trial to push those P3d v4 products - ...especially as there is no other company that suddenly talked so bad about that still very capable sim (IMO), that they praised to high heaven only few years before themselves. However, still a lot of outdated sceneries (from the beginning), which are too expensive even at 30% off - compared to what is offered by some other developers. They insist on the attitude that P3d users don't care for the price if they want something (they actually said so)... well, I only think so when the quality is really convincing! I would love to have a good P3d4 Ben Gurion scenery, for example, but honestly, look at those pictures... naah, not even for 18€! And I've already picked the few jewels (more or less) such as EDDK for example in the past sales.
  7. If you're only talking about the appearance in the default P3d database, it's no problem, as it is there after installation alongside with the old LTBA. If you can manage to have your Navdata updated without an annual subscription (which should be possible as you say), then the only problem apart from the GTN 750 would be AI Traffic, for the case that you use it. If you've created yours for yourself (by text files), it's relatively easy to replace all LTBA entries by LTFM, using Notepad++ for example, but if you have automatic installers, you would have to decompile all airline files first, that were flying to LTBA, then replace the entries as described, and then recompile. Or just use newer flightplans. Well, about the GTN 750, I'm sorry, I don't know exactly, as all my flights to and from Istanbul happen with FSL, PMDG, QWSim,... airliners. Do you mean the Flight1 GTN 750? Anyhow, I have in mind that they update their AIRAC cycle from time to time if you reinstall oder update it. They never have the current data included, but if I remember correctly, they updated to data which were app 2 or 3 years older than the current ones. Maybe you're lucky and LTFM is already included in the "newest" version??
  8. At my system it performs pretty well, even with a lot of AI traffic. The fact that I have no other scenery active there exept OpenLC EU (does it cover the European part of Turkey??) might help. The airport itself (terminal buildings) looks very good. The ground is very clean - which it might also be the case in real life at this stage. My only real criticism is the aerial image around the airport, which is a little blurry for 2021 standards and lacks some more objects or more autogen scenery. Apart from that, I can highly recommend it, even more at 40% off. I got it for "only" 25% off some weeks ago, but that's OK, concidering the quality. Sabiah Gokcen was excellent, too. I don't have Ankara, but, being built in between the 2 mentioned airports, I don't think it will disappoint.
  9. Hey! So far, I've only used the button versions of FS2Crew to avoid any mess with speech recognition. Now, I finally want to set it up. One problem: I've got a German Windows 10 version (Home edition). I've downloaded the language pack for English (US) as well as English (UK). I can set up everything as described above, BUT: I can't train my voice with the the Speech Recognizer set to English, probaly Windows recognizes a difference with the display language (which is still German). I've now trained it in German, which has worked, but which is probably very little helpful for the voice versions of FS2crew.. Do I really have to set the Windows display language to English to use FS2Crew successfully? I really want to avoid that, because I fear it would cause a lot of other problems, for example with writing programs and so on... So far, I thought it would be enough to only set the speech recognition to English, not the whole Windows. Thanks in advance. Dominik
  10. Hi Bryan, concerning the "FS2Crew FSX P3D All Access Pass": Sounds like a really great deal! Thanks a lot for that. Just to make sure: Are ALL 64bit versions of the aircraft mentionted at the P3d sections included? The description states: "P3d v1-5", however from v4 it's been 64bit. So, is this the chance to complete the P3d v4 collection for EVERY addon mentioned? Or are only for some of them 64bit ones and some others 32bit P3d versions? And, for the case of the Aerosoft CRJ: Is FS2Crew for the CRJ professional or for the older Aerosoft CRJ without the CRJ-1000? Thanks in advance. BTW: I don't even protest Asobo, I just still see a lot of potential in P3d v4 when it's about Airliners 😉 ...because it's the most complete sim I've ever had, concerning addons. Best regards, Dominik
  11. First of all, thanks for the updates and for making any efforts to sort out the problems that came up with P3D4. Have you got any advice on the Prepar3D version we should use now? So far, always having the newest version wasn't the best idea. Because this way a lot of addons weren't "new enough" for this version, some others however needed the newest version. And installing a new Prepar3d version meant reinstalling and reconfiguring a lot of addons again... I've got one of the first builds of P3D4 (v 4.0.23.21468). Would you say it's worth updating now, before reinstalling the whole PMDG stuff again? I had quite a lot of CTDs recently, some of them in mid flight without any scenery addons. Not all of them with a PMDG aircraft, but most of them were.
  12. I would agree. BUT they did the whole B747-8 model with the cockpit and the dynamics of the 747-400! This also surprised me, but I think it was a good idea anyway. I don't know if it would affect the product being officially licensed by Boeing. But I would certainly welcome an ssw update, even if it was visual only.
  13. So far I've used their free route finder option on their website which I considered very practical because you could chose the AIRAC cycle, if - like me - you don't update it monthly. Now I ALWAYS get the message "Too many requests at the server at the same time" which came occasionally before. Now, it's not possible to even get a single flightplan independant from the route. I haven't got a solution, but this is the first post I've ever read about that problem anywhere. Does anyone have experiences with their paid service? I wouldn't have a problem to pay for that service because the 6 months subscription is OK regarding the price, but I fear that this doesn't work either (??) because the problem might be somewhere different. Not even Simbrief can access to their route data which always went automatically so far for the latest cycle you've bought at Navigraph. Regards, Dominik
  14. They already have released a new 777 installer recently where VAS usage is improved by using new 747 technics. I think this was the most important thing to update - unless they should really make the -200ER. There was nothing else that I missed at the 777 except better VAS usage - which should be given now.
  15. If you can't or don't want to afford both - and if you've got no preference in terms of the airplane itself, then get the 747 while it's still flying in the real world ;-) The 777 will fly a lot longer there. So you can save money for that one while flying the 747. I only have the 777, but I will buy the 747 soon. The 777 is perfect and doesn't leave any wish open (except a -200ER^^). I'm sure the 747 is, too.
  16. I'd be happy with almost any of the suggestions - while a 737 update would probably be my least favorite of them. For the 757/767, yes I would love to fly one of those or both of them in PMDG quality - maybe also the B777-200(ER). However this would have been a much better choice years ago. Just as in real life, everybody is so keen on the 757 because of its power and its beautiful lines. But development went too slow or too late. So it's a niche product now - and it would be even more after a possible development time. Same thing with the 777: I was quite disappointed they were not doing the -200ER, but only the rare 200LR, as the -200(ER) was the one I got to know first and also still the one you got to see the most at the airports. Now it's been removed from the fleets slowly. I would probably buy any of them (especially the 757) the first day, but I still voted for the 787 because this is the one that has the most potential in future when the next development is over - at least if you're keep your sim world up to date like I do.
  17. Hi together, before I write directly to Carenado, I't like to post some problems that I have with the C208Ex here first: - Customization of the map (for example "TRACK UP") doesn't work because the cursor at the "popup list" in the "Map setup" menu is stuck at "North up". Using the inner knob of the FMS rotary switch navigates between the options "HDG up, TRACK up,....", but only for a split second and then it moves back to "NORTH up". It happens in the VC mode and also in the popup display. The knowledge base at Carenado's website doesn't help at all because it only describes how it would work if the switch wasn't faulty. But obviously it is. - The Autopilot and Yaw Damper switch both don't react to mouse clicks, neither in the VC nor in the popup window. They can only be handled with keyboard or joystick commands. - Hardly any rotary switch in the G1000 works reliably!! There are only very small areas that react to the mouse wheel or mouse click commands, the illuminated circles around these knobs when you hold the mouse above them have nothing to do with the actual reaction of the mouse commands. I thought that was exactly what they should indicate?! What's more, I thought Carenado advertises with an improved G1000 functionality because of the problems in the previous versions??? What was improved there if it still works like that????? - The engine starts when it wants to start. But most of the time it dosn't! For example: when loading a default plane, then choosing the C208Ex in the "Cold & dark" mode and doing the startup procedures as discribed, you can't start the engine. The condition lever can be moved but it doesn't ignite. Only doing that with the configuration manager (switching it to "Ready to taxi") starts the engines in that case - which is nonsense because it this case you don't need any start procedures at all and also no cold and dark option. After flying around a bit and stopping the engine afterwards it works if you start the engine immediately after having stopped it. I never had that problem with the "old" C208B before. And yes: both fuel tank selectors are selected on, the fuel shutoff valve is fully in, the emergency power lever is down and the ignition switch is on ...so I don't think it's a pilot error this time ;-) - Could you tell me why the passenger door, the cargo doors and the Copilot door can't be opened anymore as soon as you add a livery????? (really no tweak other than adding a [fltsim.X] line to the aifcraft.cfg!) Regards, Dominik
  18. Hi together, I've got a strange spoiler problem. Some time ago the spoilers of the 737 and also of the 777 started to extend all the time to about 1/4 of the maximum. The lever moves there some minutes after loading the aircraft and is staggering in the 1/4 position, as if the were 2 conflicting control inputs. However physically there is none: It also happens if I remove all joysticks and control hardware from the computer. And it only happens to PMDG aircraft. All spoilers of other aircraft work fine. It happens in every phase on the ground and in flight. I can retract them for a moment by assigning a key to "retract spoilers" in the right FMC. But a few seconds later it will extend again to its staggering 1/4 position. I have no idea what I should have changed before that happend. Maybe a problem with FSUIPC (now registrated)?? What can I do? Regards, Dominik
  19. OK, now that I finally had some time again to test it, it really works now! :-) I still can't tell you what exactly was wrong, but this is what I finally did: - disabled all features in DX10 fixer - uninstalled the effects - reinstalled the effects, but did NOT enable DX10 mode in the fixer - launeched FSX - enabled DX10 preview mode in FSX - restarted FSX, but before I checked the Settings in DX10 fixer again, and now they were all switched on, without doing that manually there - FPS are nice again, even with the water effects switched on - changed the Settings in NVidia inspector according to the info in the last post here (didn't notice a change, but left it like that) In FSX and in DX10 fixer all the settings are the same as before. I just changed the order of enabeling them. Very strange because I still don't know what was wrong, but most important is thath it works now ;-) Thank you again for all the helpful comments! Cheers, Dominik
  20. OK, after some time I've uninstalled and reinstalled Steve's DX10 fixer with no result. Then I wrote an eMail to Steve Parsons. He suggested that some textures are in 32bit format by mistake, probably the water effect textures (because the problem only occurs when I switch on the water effects). These textures were created by my REX2. BUT: Could anyone tell me where these water EFFECT textures are in FSX and which format they should have? In REX2 there are some options you can choose from before installing the textures. However there is no option for the format of the water (effect) textures, but only for the resolution. Thanks again in advance, Dominik
  21. Hi, I just bought it and in my 182 the lower right knob of the right screen "FMS" almost doesn't work at all. All the other switches work fine, with the blue ring appearing around the knob to show which knob exactly can be moved. Strange, the knobs that you mentioned all seem to work. Any experience with the problem with the "FMS" knob? In the 2D popup window, the knob (inner and outer) works, but in the AUX mode, even in 2D view not all functions seem to work properly (e.g. moving the "cursor" with the outer knob sometimes works and sometimes it doesn't), thus it's not possible to customize the panel. If there is no solution, I'm gonna report it as a bug in the Carenado support form then.
  22. Well, I'm just about to fit all my small airplanes with the RXP GPS. That's exactly why I haven't purchased a single Carenado plane with the G1000. It might look nice, but apart from the known limits of this system at Carenado's airplanes, I just think the clickspots are difficult to handle on a PC in most of the G1000 panels that I have so far (Lionheart Epic Victory, Iris DA-40). That's why I don't fly them very often. So if you really want to have a G1000 equipped plane why not take the Kingair, C182 or Cessna Citation Mustang by Flight1. Might not be cheap either, but at least it should work really well. For Carenado I still have the opinion that a combined steam/glass cockpit is the best solution. Medium system depth with a perfect look + system depth from the RXP GPS. So why paying so much money for a model which is already availible in good quality (excluding FDE). Certainly not only because of the business interior^^ That's why I do not wonder if this should be quite unpopular.
  23. Hi together! Since I have Steve's DX10 fixer I have a strange problem: As soon as I focus any water in FSX I get a HUGE drop of FPS, usually down to 5-6 fps even with the default ultralight plane at the default scenery. As soon as I turn the view "over land" everything runs normal. When looking into the land, I still get about 12 fps with the Airbus X, ORBX Brisbane + AI traffic for example. So it's clearly a problem with the water. I've got REX 2 installed, with 1024 bit textures (as I always had before when I flew in DX9 mode), with the "optimized for DXT5" option activated. But even without that the problem existed. The problem occurs as soon as I set the water effects to any "normal" position, and even below I get bad fps. Does anyone know what could be the problem? Thanks in advance! Regards, Dominik My System: Intel i5 3570k @ 3.4 GHz (not overclocked), NVidia Gforce GTS450, 8 GB DDR3 RAM, WD HDD @ 7.200 rpm
  24. Strange because 1.5V was the default Setting before I changed anything. So I guess it's better to set everything back to standard before anything is damaged. Unfortunately I learned about the AMD "black editions" when I already had the current one. So I don't think it will be worth buying another AMD if I have to upgrade the MB anyway. I'm fucussing an i5 + corresponding MB now which should be available for 300€ or less. That's still within my limits. So I'm better flying some more GA at the small airports and leave the big ones to FS2004 for the last time until the upgrade. @mjrhealth: Oh yes, that's definitly a frame rate killer I realized!^^ Thanks again for the help.
