August 3, 20214 yr Your POV works for you, Ses. My position is that if I've already got well over thousands of dollars invested in a PC I built primarily for flight (and other) simming, then a company says "Here's our new Flight Simulator for your PC! It's GREAT!", so I spend $120+ for it, then 30 days later they "update" it to look like what their latest and greatest console gaming system can handle, I'll be d*mned if I'm gonna spend $600 to buy their gaming console just to play the sim now. Never owned a gaming console, and don't have any incentive nor intention to buy one. Press on. Edited August 3, 20214 yr by FalconAF Rick Ryan

I am also looking forward to the mobility of it from the big screen TV, to the R.V. such as that. There (I see) are perks to a pretty dang good hardware list in a box. So...like I stated since a few of you (and thank you!) have posted YOUR thoughts...is that for me, it will be a throw-in-the-towel win/win. I have my present P.C. for the other two sims...and anything else I have always done with it...and now will have a pretty decent 'portable' system in a box, to run MSFS and any other game I might want now to peek at. Cheers! It's all good...but I feel better, feeling that I am no longer being long-term 'played'. Nope...I have walked in from left field...on MSFS. for the hope of it totally pimped out for a hot custom P.C. rig. Not gonna happen....

After all - over the last 40 years MS has infiltrated and established itself in my life in an insidious way through it’s operating system monopoly. I doubt MS has any regrets about insinuating itself so deeply into most of Human society. Yeah I’ve tried to live with Linux more than once, but the software necessary for my business life was just never there, and frankly, it sucks as a game system. Yeah, I started with the C-64 and Amiga too - and I am also old enough to possibly NOT be around for a 10-year maturation of a chunk of software I was lame enough to believe was going to be pretty well finished out of the gate. In my own defense, I don’t have a lot of sim experience. I have spent the last 30 years building and flying real aircraft, so I haven’t experienced the long development periods many of you constantly refer to with Xplane and P3D, etc. maybe I’m too naive, but I still want to believe that MSFS will eventually reach a reasonably functional level. If you ARE into conspiracy theories think about this: what’s the major element in MSFS 2020 that has not existed before now? How about access to the entire planet Earth? There is a lot of potential $$$ there! There are certainly possibilities for using that base for any number of gaming and simulation experiences. Wouldn’t they all fit nicely in MS’s own hardware system? Would a relatively few geeky flight simmers be missed after the dust settled? Food for thought Excellent post, and well thought out. M.S. isn't a philanthropic entity or charity. There has to be a broad base R.O.I. Xbox (they are 'banking' will deliver that, ..and for SURE, they would want a flight sim as an offered game title. Now...that is realized. MSFS for Xbox...has launched.

If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, its a duck. When I think of all the money I've spent on it I could weep. "Yep....."

Unfortunately, they are as scarce as rocking horse poo in UK, unless you are prepared to pay "scalper" prices, which I am not !! BR To order one, I had to cough up my C.C. but only will be tagged when I go and pick it up, after an email advises me it is at the store. I have no idea when that will be with the chip shortages, ..but I know that I will have one before I die over a ten year MSFS project Asobo life span, LOL! Well...Paladin...I sure HOPE SO! LOLOLOL. Cheers!

We have a 45 flat screen in the R.V., so what the heck! 🙂
