I would like to map it to one of the honeycomb throttle switches but cant find any mention of it in any of the mapping selections. Is it possbile to create a mapping selection or is it embeded into the code.

Since SU5, many switches are being handled by "B:.." macros in the XML code. TMBK those cannot be operated from the outside, in case you are using an external tool for mapping.

On my computer I've added a small piece of code to the TBMs model definition XML file to link the B: input events to normal LVars, which I can then trigger from the outside.

It would be really great if the makers of aircraft would find it in their hearts to include sections like this one, with all controls linked to LVars, all in one place, for everyone to see and access.

@loby_SI. Thats good info but as I as very amateur at writing code could you please explain it a little more.  Which code did you add & how you assign a switch to the inertial seperator switch.

What file: The location of the xml file is visible at the top of the Notepad++ screenshot. It is the behavior definition file for the TBM interior model.

Which code did I add: the one in the red box

How did I assign it to an external switch: by using my "AxisAndOhs" app, see right half of the screeshot. But any external controller assignment app  that can access LVars will do.

Hi Lorby - I used to use your excellent camera views amendment tool back in the FSX days - I loved it - it was the only way of manipulating a view on the fly that TrackIR would also respect (and not reset). 👍

Does the AxesAndOhs tool allow the types of assignments discussed above, to keyboard commands? .... or only to joystick axes and buttons?

Natively AAO supports input from keyboard, mouse, joystick, gamepad and MIDI devices. Plus any other hardware that can access the WebAPI of AAO (like the Elgato StreamDeck) or where Bridge programs have been made (currently VRI MCP II, Knobster). There is a free demo version, so you can check if it does what you want.

But as I said - every external app will do, as long as it can access LVars. SPADNext, FSUIPC, Mobiflight, AFAIK should all be able to change the value of the LVars that are established in the Update code - those aren't in any way exclusive to AAO, and you can name them whatever you want.
