Heading bug worse? And altitude still not fixed?

Featured Replies

I think it is well known, the altitude not being correctly acknowledged by ATC.  But I've also noticed my heading is now so far off from where it seems like it should be.   Here in this shot which the moving map is heading straight into the wind vector, and the map is out at 100m, I'm 10 miles from the heading line in the top down view, yet shows I'm on it on the outer displays.  Someone had commented this is normal when there are side winds that are compensating but as I say it's a direct headwind:

Looks like the MFD map is indicating you are 14N right of the track. If the CDI shows you to be dead on course, you should be on the track line regardless of the wind especially with the map zoomed out to 100NM.  If there is a crosswind, your heading will show the crab angle into the wind that is required to stay on the track.

So something is not right here unless there is some kind of a tack offset mode on similar to what you can setup in a GTN750. A track offset mode lets you fly a parallel course track that is offset from the primary track by a user settable distance until you get close to the target waypoint.

Thanks ark I can say this is either post SU5, or post hot fix I'm not sure.   It is def flying an offset mode, parallel as you say.  Plus, new after the same events are when flying a course to a destination airport the Citation L will make turns that are not part of the flight plan, for example to bank left where an approach might have had me bank left, yet I have not entered an approach procedure, nor is the plane responding to ATC commands, it just does it.  This is also new post SU5/HF's.

I have also seen the MFD displaying the aircraft offset to the right... although every other indication is that the aircraft is following the GPS course.
