August 31, 20214 yr Hi, Is there someone of you who knows how to configure spad.next for MSFS or can provide a valid configuration for MSFS? I am testing the software (I have not purchased the license yet). I'm trying it because my Logitech Multi Panel often disconnects from MFSF (not from USB. I've chequed it!). That happens quite often, but it happens always if there is a CTD. After experiencing a CTD there is no way the Logitech Multi Panel will work again. I have to shut down the PC or even disconnect and reconnect the USB connectors... Spad.next works fine, it seems that there are no disconnections with the MFSF, but I see that it keeps the settings by default and I would like to be able to customize the buttons. Thank you in advance. Edited August 31, 20214 yr by John Fields
August 31, 20214 yr I'm not home right now, but if you look on the left you'll see "online profiles". The author of spad is Connex, OR Connects. I can't remember, think It's connex. He has default profiles for the Saitek/ Logitech panels posted in there. Once you've found that and have it loaded for your multipanel, it will work like out of the box. If you want to customize, easiest way is to click on one of the switches in spad (or knobs/ levers) you'll see a box on the right that says, Snippets". Snippets are profiles that you load for individual switchs/knobs/levers. You may have to go into spad's settings and enable Saitek multi panel support. I don't recall if it's enabled by default. I'll post a link to a YouTuber who really customizes his setup. For example, I use a hotas with trim on the flight stick. I don't use the multipanel trim wheel, so I deleted that mapping in spad and changed it to strictly control vertical speed. I limited the wheel's range to + or - 1500 fpm. I don't use it's flap lever, so I made retract increase the altitude lock by 1000 feet, and extend decrease by 500 feet. Long press up is increase alt lock 10000 ft. Long press down decreases by 5000. I've set that lever to never go below 2000ft, or above 45k. When I'm home I can provide further assistance. Good luck Edited August 31, 20214 yr by Waldo Pepper
August 31, 20214 yr Forgot one thing. The default commands for fs2020 are called simconnect. There is also support for LVARS which can be enabled in options. Some 3rd part aircraft only respond to lvar commands, or a mix of simmconnect and lvars. (Local Variables). There is also an option for FSUIPC 7 integration, which is another command interface option. But it's probably nothing to concern yourself with at this point

August 31, 20214 yr Another thing you may wish to check out if you stick with spad is virtual fip.gauges. They can be displayed on your main screen, or any other display. I run two virtual BIP (back-lit information panels) on my phone to annunciate things like parking brake, pushback, gear, water rudder, spoilers, etc. I also use spad to display a vertical speed indicator on my Logitech fip. It's super handy for landings because I've set the range of it's face to + or - 200 fpm, and an alarm light on the gauge of illuminates over 100fpm. Another useful one is the clock, which shows sim or local time, in local or Zulu time with a button press. Makes multi-player flights easier to manage with all the time zones. https://fipgauges.com/ This one is super handy too, https://fipgauges.com/product_info.php?products_id=129 Edited August 31, 20214 yr by Waldo Pepper

September 2, 20214 yr Hi Guys, I just installed SpadNext to get my Radio & Multi Panel working rather than use the Logitech plugin. I downloaded a profile for the A32NX and now they work perfectly 🙂 Is there a benefit of assigning axis for my Honeycomb Yoke & Saitek Rudder pedals? Reason I ask is that in MSFS 2020 I have a few different controller profiles setup for GA/TurboProps & Airliners. I don't know how much fine control of the devices SpadNext will allow but it would be nice to have the control profile switch automatically when a different aircraft is loaded So far I like the software and will probably purchase when the trial ends Richard i7-12700K | Noctua NH-D15S Black Version | MSI Pro Z690 - A | 32 GB DDR4 3600 | Gigabyte Gaming OC 4090 | 1TB WD Blue NMVe (MSFS 2020) | 500 GB WD Black Gen 4 NVMe | 4TB WD Black Conventional | Fractal Design Torrent Case | Seasonic 1000W Gold Plus PSU | Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke | Honeycomb Throttle | Airbus Side Stick | Virpil Rudder Pedals | Sony X90K 55 Inch TV |
September 2, 20214 yr I got my Multi and Switch panels yesterday, after using the Logitech Plugin I decided to go for the Spad.Next instead. Deleted the Logitech Plugin completely, and now it works great! One thing I did though, was turning off the ability for Windows to power down the devices in Device Manager. Spad will configure that power option for connected devices, if you start spad in admin mode.

One thing I like about spad.next, is that it also supports Derek Speare's button boxes, and Derek's usb controller boards. I use an old Speare's button box I had from iRacing. https://derekspearedesigns.com/dsd-flight---flt1flt2.html His stand alone USB controller boards are plug and play. I've thought about playing around with one to create a custom dash panel with knobs, switches, and annunciator lights. Made me think about getting a 3d printer. https://derekspearedesigns.com/32-button-no-matrix-controller.html Edited September 2, 20214 yr by Waldo Pepper
