If you're starting from cold and dark at a gate, is it required to run the PFE? I know it says optional, but if I'm starting from a C&D state, what is the 1st thing I need to do if I'm going to skip the PFE?

Also I noticed the jetways aren't connected automatically. But they do connect automatically when I park at the gate.

Running the Pre Flight Events is not required. Never has been.

Jetway will only auto connect if you run the Pre flight events.

 

Jetways aren't automatically connecting for me when running the automatic PFE though. At exactly what stage of running the PFE do they connect? How many minutes into the PFE? Or am I suppose to do something to trigger it?

Make sure you're using the V1.1 public beta.  I suspect you're not using it.

On the Settings Panel there are ground service options.

Also remember if using PBW and FBW together with the V1.1 public beta, only call for the Pre Flight Events in FBW.

Don't also call for the Pre Flight Events in PBE at the same time.

This is a new change in V1.1 public beta.
