October 25, 20214 yr Ok, it works now. I cleared out all of my Add on Linker files, and that did it. I'm not sure which scenery might have been in conflict but the CTD was rather immediate. And it couldn't have been any of my payware. It could have been Lone Pine because that was one I removed (not Big Pine) and the Mash movie set was the other. I checked out Snow Summit and the position of the chair lifts seems accurate, though there was one more than I remembered. The two slopes that I actually skiied on were there. I forgot to check for night lighting. Edited October 25, 20214 yr by dobee51
November 1, 20214 yr @mamu82 Sorry for the very late reply, it has been pretty busy here for the last week or so. Thank you so much for your very thorough explanation! That was super interesting to read. And the ideas you came up with to get as much as possible automated are just mindblowing to me. Now that´s why we had Math in school haha! Knowing nothing about the work you and @PuffinFlight do, it is easy to click on Download, install it and enjoy it, without any clue how much work went into it. One could think: Oh, that is all in OSM, so those guys just have to write a Script and voila, everything is there. I already assumed it from various comments Puffin made on similar threads, but you showed a few examples of what (unexpected) problems arise even when you "have all the data" and besides all the programming and solution finding, there is still tons of manual work involved to get it up to the quality standard you guys release it then for us to enjoy. @RALF9636 Regarding your comment about the name of the project, I agree with you, partially. I also first though it adds a few lifts to a certain area and only after watching the Video, I fully understood and had to download it immediately 🙂 On the other hand, call it "Project Lifts Worldwide" or similar and you can bet there is that one guy who complains that the one lift behind his house is not in the Add-On and calls out the developer for false advertising and what not. Personally, I would rather release it to a potential smaller audience and not have to deal with people not appreciating the time that went into it and that it is free. But yes, it could find a spot in more peoples add-on collection and everyone doing VFR and not having it, is missing out without knowing, that´s for sure 🙂
