That is fine... On my system, xml files open with Notepad as well.

Can you state what the current problem is?

Don't worry about how it opens when you double click on it. Your PC will simply open it up in notepad so you can read it. When MSFS opens it, it will read those tags and build the vegetation from the information contained in it.

Bert I think we have this one figured out...the 1st line in his file is missing the correct syntax which is why it's not seen as .xml.

This is the header in his file: version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

Which should be: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

I suspect the missing opening tag is fowling the works!
