I find DX12 Beta a lot smoother with Low Latency Mode turned off.

This only applies to DX11, right?

With “Ultra-Low Latency” mode, frames are submitted into the render queue just before the GPU needs them. This is “just in time frame scheduling,” as NVIDIA calls it. NVIDIA says it will “further [reduce] latency by up to 33%” over just using the Maximum Pre-Rendered Frames option.

This works with all GPUs. However, it only works with DirectX 9 and DirectX 11 games. In DirectX 12 and Vulkan games, “the game decides when to queue the frame” and the NVIDIA graphics drivers have no control over this.

Have you checked out Sky Dolly? This seems to provide the multi-plane formations you are after.

Well I'll be... That does indeed look extremely promising.  I did see that over at the ".to" but something about the name caused me to pass on reading up about it.   I should try to be less discriminating.  Thank you very very much for pointing it out!

On my machine I am getting HALF of the fps with dx12. It runs terrible in dx12. How are you guys getting a smooth experience with dx12? You can see my system specs in my sig and they are top notch. This low tatency setting is off by default too.

Hi, you can try to disable the resizable bar on your motherboard i have better performance without it ( for ryzen owners )

It doesn't sound easy at all, and your coding, flying and videographer skills are impressive.  Did you ever use Matthias Neusinger's FS Recorder in FSX or FS9?   I used to use it to do very similar things - it would let you record a flight, then play it back as an AI aircraft so you could then fly along with it for formation flying, aerobatics, mock dogfights or whatever.  And you could record that, and play both back together as AI and fly with them, for multi-plane formations and so forth.   It was such a groundbreaking tool and I have been yearning to see something like in in MFS someday.   Sounds like you're on the track!

😎🤙

No i don't know this recorder but fabio merlo does pretty much the same thing but you have to be tricky since it doesn't work at all correctly at high speed

Thank you for the compliments ! 🙂

Interesting. I updated to windows 11 tonight and the performance of fs2020 is wayyy better now. No more lag and no more hitching and much better fps now. I think maybe win11 is required to get good fps in this sim with dx12. It is really smooth now and looks great.
