What a beauty ! (Settings + video ) Rtx 3090 & DirectX 12

Featured Replies

Nice video (even the short is nice).  Is there any graphical differences right now?  It looks the same as my GTX 1080 ti - but it's hard to tell without actually running the proper hardware.

How's your performance compared to DX11? Worse, better or same?

ASUS ROG Maximus Hero XII ▪︎ Intel i9-10900K ▪︎ NVIDIA RTX 3090 FE ▪︎ 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro ▪︎ Windows 10 Pro (21H1) ▪︎ Samsung 970 EVO Pro 1TB NVME SSD (OS Drive) ▪︎ Samsung 860 EVO 2TB SATA SSD ▪︎ Seagate 4TB SATA HDD ▪︎ Corsair RMx 850W PSU

I find DX12 Beta a lot smoother with Low Latency Mode turned off.

CPU Ryzen 7800X 3D  RAM 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 6000MHz GPU GEFORCE RTX 4090
Monitor AOC AGON AG352UCG UltraWide G-Sync @ 3440x1440
Internal Storage 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD
External Storage Three 4Tb HDs

Wow - Outstanding video mate !! .

Outstanding video!  How did you record the mock dogfight and manipulate the camera work at the same time?  I can see doing that with a replay ffeature but with both planes.... curious.

While we're talking alternative music soundtracks (while I think the CCR selection was perfect) can I put in a vote for Canned Heat's "Going Up The Country"?   No kidding - it synchronizes to your video almost perfectly!  😉

Where did you set Low Latency off ? In the NVCP ?

Yes it's in the NVCP, thanks for mention that, i've tried to turn "Low Latency Mode" on (the third option which i can't tell what's in English), and set RENDER SCALING to 200 with G-SYNC and V-SYNC ON, it's smooth than ever in DX11, absolutely useful for me.

Just wondering how it performance with 4K monitor, maybe i should pick one in the future.

Sorry for my pathetic English , thank you.😅

Performance on 4k with my 3080Ti is very good, so your 3090 should be fine  I have an old 4k monitor without Gsync.  4k monitors with Gsync are very expensive!
I hold 30 FPS easily, with all settings on ultra, and it is smooth.   I would like 60 FPS but it can't quite do it (55-57 FPS).

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

@bobcat999

Thanks for that knowledge😃, it really is expensive right now with only few choice in my field, maybe i should buy a VR and give it a try. As it turns out the 3090 has not a good value and i've bought a wrong monitor and CPU. We need some more optimizes i think.

Great video!

I noticed a great improvement in the color of the water as well as the night lighting.

With my 3090 i'm really bottleneck by my ryzen 3800XT i can reach more than 60 fps with a lod factor between 200 & 300 but over i'm cpu limited.

I used Fabio Merlo recorder with some personal tweak in the source code . You need to record 2 different flight and play them at the same time 🙂 ( it's not easy ^^ )

Ditto right now, I'll try other places to be fixed

It doesn't sound easy at all, and your coding, flying and videographer skills are impressive.  Did you ever use Matthias Neusinger's FS Recorder in FSX or FS9?   I used to use it to do very similar things - it would let you record a flight, then play it back as an AI aircraft so you could then fly along with it for formation flying, aerobatics, mock dogfights or whatever.  And you could record that, and play both back together as AI and fly with them, for multi-plane formations and so forth.   It was such a groundbreaking tool and I have been yearning to see something like in in MFS someday.   Sounds like you're on the track!

Have you checked out Sky Dolly? This seems to provide the multi-plane formations you are after.

Hmmm, looks to me like a sim that has a broken fundamental control mechanism. 😁 or is it a fundamentally broken control mechanism?
