I can see doing that with a replay ffeature but with both planes.... curious. I used to use it to do very similar things - it would let you record a flight, then play it back as an AI aircraft so you could then fly along with it for formation flying, aerobatics, mock dogfights or whatever. And you could record that, and play both back together as AI and fly with them, for multi-plane formations and so forth.
