Lower fps and framerate reduction over time

Featured Replies

I have been facing somewhat the same issue, but it doesn't seem necessarily related with the amount of time the sim is running.

The other day I did a 6 hour flight with the iniBuilds A310 and at the arrival airport I had about 30 fps, while on the gate it dropped to 25 fps. Restarting the sim at the same location and same addons gave me about 35 fps.

Now with the Fenix A320, on a much more fps friendly airport, I started my first leg with around 45 fps. The total time for this leg was about one hour and at the arrival airport I had 35 fps. Usually at that airport, which I just arrived, when I start the sim, it gives me 40 to 45 fps with the Fenix. Having said that, I did a return flight to the original airport, without restarting the sim, and upon arrival it gave me 30 to 35 fps. So, by the time I arrived again at the initial airport, about two hours later, my performance already degraded by at least 10 fps.

In my case, it seems that no matter which addon or airport, not long after the departure, the sim performance starts to degrade up to a certain point that gives me 10 to 15 fps less than a fresh start. I know that it is expected for the performance to be degraded overtime, but this seems much more noticeable in SU11 than before.

I have the same settings as SU10, for reference, object LOD 100, terrain LOD 200 and I don't use FSLTL or any AI addon. Besides the aircraft and scenery mentioned above, I do use GSX, but that's about it. I also only have 16GB of memory, but as far as I can tell, it doesn't seem to be a memory leak as when I land I'm usually at 13 to 14GB used, no matter of how long the sim has been running.

My take on all of this is that, while restarting the sim does help with performance, that usually helps for the first 30 minutes at which the performance degrades to a point where I lose at least 10 fps. Subsequent flights hold about the same performance with little to no loss after the 30 minute mark.

Made a complete flight from Amsterdam to Bodrum. See the fps after landing ! !

The Main thread is now 69.4 ms ….The manipulators are 59.8 ms ….

Fps just 14 ….
Load on the cores was low. Enough RAM, enough VRAM

To compare : here 10 min after startup at Amsterdam Schiphol. See the big difference:

Hi

I'm getting the same issues; eg  EGKK - LEBL FBW A320 starts off at EGKK (modded airport full) 25-30 on the ground, 40s+ in the air but after about half an hour 13FPS - 75ms latency on the main thread! Somethin'  wrong... don't remember this before SU11. PS I am also in the Beta.

PS for me the FBW A320 most of the time refuses to engage autothrottle on takeoff. I have prepared the flight carefully and correctly as far as I can. This never happens on the Fenix or PMDG 736.

I'm having the exact same problem , turning off AI makes no difference, problem remains after landing and taxing in but  when I restart  the sim at the exact same location then the FPS are back to normal, certainly looks like its " an over time" problem again .

As an update, I tried the same trip with the Fenix A320 EGKK-LEBL, c 2 hours flight and no problem at all this time. Autothrottle works perfectly in the Fenix

No idea how this happens - seems completely random.
