We take off from Decimomannu, training ground for some NATO air forces.

The forces that push you into your Martin Baker seat are most impressive

A friend of mine, who flew the single-seat F104G, once told me that it took him with full afterburners engaged just 1 minute and 28 seconds to reach 30000 ft

Below us is the Chiemsee (also sometimes called Bavarian Sea)

And now the fun part starts: prepare for landing. You enjoy flying in the starfighter tremendously, at least at altitude. But when it comes to landing, the problems come and they concentrate on the compromise of getting this bird as slowly as possible, but just above 170 knots, onto this piece of tarmac at the beginning of the runway

This is just my second flight in this beautiful beast, so I won’t show it to you. I was so busy to keep her level that I went below 170 knots. If this happens, this glorious aircraft will become vicious. It does not forgive the mistake of crossing boundaries

A real eye opener. Loved the high altitude shots, especially Chiemsee (was there once in real life...45 years ago!).

Great shots! 😉

High altitude beauties Bernd !! .

Great set of shots from the Starfighter, it is in my hangar too, but only did a very short try hunting for a longer flight someday..

cheers 😉

Great pix!!!

I have tried the Starfighter mod in DCS and have yet to complete a passable landing....:-) Very tricky handling indeed.

It certainly does go up like a rocket!!!!!!
