December 14, 20214 yr Hi should I buy a HP Reverb G2 or wait until I have a newer computer? Years ago I had a Samsung Odyssey but I quickly started to sweat under the headset, so I sold it also for poor resolution. Any must have VR games. I really liked Alien Isolation, can I still run that? Thanks
December 14, 20214 yr The 2080 is probably a bit weak for the high resolution the G2 has. The 9900k is absolutely fine for VR. Laminar Research customer -- Asobo/MS customer -- not an X-Aviation customer - or am I? 😉
December 22, 20214 yr I'm running a G2 just fine with a 2070Super & i9-9900k Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1 Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)
December 22, 20214 yr If you got to have VR the HP Reverb G2 is the minimum I'd go with for flight simulation. Though the G2 has very high resolution, the software driving it can run at a lower res and still produce very good results while maintaining reasonably frame rates. There is lots of info on the web on tuning MSFS for G2 performance. Your existing computer can handle it, just don't expect to run full ultra, heck I can't even with a 3080 ti.
