Would help if  there  was  a screen shot  shown ?

had same problem with map display, I clicked on the map and it loaded Ok.

Try clicking on the squares.

I saw something similar when my internet went off at the weekend, so maybe check connection/firewall?

You can change the map type and it will show the map, but if you want to view the Street Map, you need to update to the latest version.  The older version have a bug that causes this display.

Then, when you open it, if it displays this the blue frames, zoom in and out, change to a different map and back, and possibly zoom in and out again.  This is all to load new tiles for each zoom level.
