I've been unable to download the update, so I can't use the sim.  When I launch it, I am told there is a mandatory update.  When I go to the MS Store, it only gives the option of purchasing the program.  I downloaded the X-Box App (people shouldn't have to have all this stuff, but that another thing entirely...) and it tells me there is an update.  I choose my version and click update but nothing happens.

Any suggestions?

I don't get that, I'm not even able to download anything, let alone get the loop they are referring to.  However, maybe I'll reboot too and see if that makes things start.

It took me a while but worked in the end.  Like for you, it looked as though MS store would only sell MSFS but when I selected the CORRECT version (standard in my case), it did show "owned" (game+license) and a choice of 2 buttons:  play or update.  Everything went smoothly from that point.

Good luck!

Bottom left of page ,  you should find your update at the MS store :

Well, that did let me in, though I did have to sit through the opening videos.  Then I was prompted to download 715 MiB.  Hope it works, thanks as always for your expertise.  I've decided to buy a new PC (order is already in) so I may need some help getting it on there!
