Few freeware planes from recent files (13 pics) ...

Featured Replies

Folks: Here are a few a/c samples that caught my attention today, when I was looking around in the freeware library...Enjoy...!

  1. [3 pics] Yakovlev Yak-23 (Nato Name "Flora"): Yak-23 was a jet fighter developed in the USSR in the 1940s and used in early 1950s (reminds one of the F-86 Sabre, which also had first flight, later in the same year, 1947). The Yak-23 would be later replaced in the Soviet service by no other than the legendary MiG-15. Notice the non-conventional layout with a jet engine in the fuselage nose and the exhaust under-belly, directly under the cockpit. The specimen, shown below, with civilian markings SP-GLK, was the one on which, on September 21, 1957, the Polish pilot Andrzej Abłamowicz set two world records, in its weight class, climbing to 9,843 ft in 119 seconds and to 19,685 ft in 197 seconds (5,995.4 ft/min).
  2. [2 pics] VIP, (Presidential) Airbus ACJ350 XWB, Germany Air Force, Bundesrepublik Deutschland 10-01.
  3. [2 pics] Pilatus PC-6C_H2 RED BULL Livery.
  4.  [1 pic] EquAir B737-700: EquAir, based out of Quito (Ecuador), is Ecuador's newest airline, to be competing with the (well-known) likes of LATAM and Avianca. Operations started 2 weeks ago, on January 10 (2022), a commendable beginning but certainly a challenge during these times. Its current fleet consists of two B737-700s.
  5. [1 pic] An Interesting Airbus 319 livery (D-AILU) from Lufthansa (Note Special "Duck" Markings - front and back).
  6. [4 pics] Boeing 747-8F Atlas Air Cargo: Atlas has snapped up the (very) last four 747-8Fs to be ever built. So, thereby, Atlas Air will also hold the honor of having ordered the last "747" ever built, too...! This order precedes Boeing's decision to pull the plug on 747-8F production. The Atlas Air 747-8F aircraft will be delivered later this year (2022) and will mark the end of a most remarkable era in aviation...for the Queen of the Sky. Atlas Air 747-8F Freighters will be the last ones in the entire 747 history. The first 747 was delivered way back in January 1970 to Pan Am, and the series production will finally come to an end this year, in 2022, after more than half a century...!

Some magic shots, P_7878!! That Yak-23 I had never seen before.

Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds
